This is why you hold your tongue after the first exhibition game. All the folks who used terms like destroyed, steamrolled, and dominated against Purdue need to keep the same energy describing our putrid play tonight.

Yes, we were without 2 primary ball handlers, but if that's such a huge hit then Chandler doesn't need to log mins at PG. His ball handling is rudimentary and stiff.
Maybe this opens some eyes and lights a fire before the season bc this wasn't acceptable play with or without several key players.

I know it's only an exhibition but this could be concerning if not corrected immediately. Trust in Pope.

Chandler is worrying me, he looks like he regressed back to the beginning of last year, I'm not worried about the team if Lowe and Aberdeen stay healthy but it's not a good start to that.

He played shooting guard and forward last year … not point guard. He is getting the opportunity to play PG because of injury now, just like Perry did last year. It is unclear to me whether he is a better PG option than Johnson, although neither are really point guards.

It’s not the play. It’s the lack of effort and accountability

This looked almost like the SEC tourney game against Alabama where we didn’t even show up.

Just no excuse.

I am not sure that we have a roster constructed with enough athleticism to win games against good teams on nights when we shoot poorly. That was the case last year and MIGHT (not sure) be the case this year. Sometimes you have to be good enough to simply win ugly. It’s always easier when you shoot well … !!

I think other posters hit on the issue with Chandler. He's not a PG and I'd venture to guess that he hasn't practiced in that role at all this pre-season. It's understandable that he'd look rough in that position, IMHO. Out of position and forced to play it with virtually zero practice doing it. At least since last year.

We were not in a good place to win once DA was announced as being out.
