after pleading guilty in his domestic violence case. New AD is laying down the law from the get go. This also opens up a scholarship for Charles Matthews, or someone else.

Saw this in the news and wondered, with NU currently competing against U of I for a few players if the recent events at U of I help NU or just don't matter. I don't have much criticism for Groce or the administration. All of these issues look to be squarely on the players. But do you want your kid hanging out 24/7 with kids like this? It's not just one or two kids.

yet the other kid who was arrested for the same type of offense is still on the team. Also the guy who pulled a knife on a bar employee will sit for a "whole" 4 games. Yep, they are sure tough on these tough guys down state.

Won't comment on Black, but why would we punish Tate? His case was dismissed ... in this country, we've traditionally not punished people who, ya know, weren't convicted of anything at all...

All of the witnesses changed their stories
Or they were "encouraged" to do so. Guess testifying that a guy pulled a knife on one of your employees hurts business in a college town or a former girlfriend is "persuaded to not remember. For example, see ND and the girl who later committed suicide

You mean like when OJ lost all his corporate sponsorships after being acquitted of killing Nicole?

Because he did it. You need to be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a criminal case. For a civil matter, you can use much more lenient standards:

Reasonable Suspicion
Reasonable to believe
Some credible evidence
Substantial evidence
Preponderance of evidence
Clear and convincing evidence

Sorry for the use of big words. Hope you can get through that.

Haha, "he did it," huh? If you're going to speak in such absolute terms and present your opinion as fact, then proceed to belittle me with some completely uncalled for accusation that I can't comprehend your "big words," there's not any point in arguing.

You guys' blind hatred of Illinois is sad.

What would you say if your daughter was dating Jaylon Tate?

Your blind devotion for your team's players despite their violent behavior toward women is far more sad.

Tate wasn't "acquitted" - the prosecutor dropped the charges because she determined they weren't warranted by the facts. All the other witnesses to the incident supported Tate's account.

Ah, "all of the other"? What abou the woman he attacked? Illinois is going down the same path as Baylor who just finally fired their FB coach and shifed their president, Ken Star to another parish/department. Does that name ring a bell? Wonder if he still has that "stained" dress in his closet.

LOL, the woman Tate "attacked" changed her story to the point that her own lawyer determined there wasn't a case. This isn't a case of us being homers for our players (you don't see any Illini fans defending Kendrick Nunn or disagreeing with the decision to dismiss him after the process found him guilty), it's a case of looking at the facts.

Is willycat a well-known sh|tty poster on this board, a rabidly irrational Illini hater or just having a rough week? Seems totally unwilling to engage in civil discourse about this.

Thanks for the compliments. It's just that we have heard this story to many times. Guy hits/ sexually assaults girl. She doesn't want to prosecute/testify. Why, oh maybe she's encouraged/threatened to not do so and oh yes, money talks.

Really a woman changed her story in a domestic violence case and the later story is the truth? Next your going to tell me that a female would never marry her abuser. You're right, that would never happen:

Wrong as usual but thanks for thinking of me. Have a nice day. I know I'm having one. The Cubs are winning again.

I love ya, willy. Anyone who's been a Cat fan as long as you is OK in my book. I only wish Turk would return......
