In your opinion what other Duke player would you compare Luke to? He reminds me a lot of Scheyer but with better ability to create his own shot. His game has come along nicely.

From a scoring standpoint, he reminds me a lot of J.J. His instincts on the offensive side of the ball are uncanny. He still makes mistakes and goes just too fast sometimes --- as evidenced by that late possession in the ND game where he turned it over --- but I still like that he's always on the aggressive.

Defensively he's ahead of J.J. at this stage, and that's where I'd bring the Scheyer comparison in. He kind of came into a similar position as Scheyer, both were called upon a lot as freshman because of big defections from prior teams.

So to answer your question, offensively I see a lot of J.J., but he's more a well-rounded player than J.J. was as a freshman, and more like Jon from a maturation point of view.

Not a duke player but he honestly reminds me of a poor man's James Harden. Lefty, sneaky athleticism, goes for the steal too much on D, extremely savvy, streaky shooter but awesome from FT line, and knows how to get to the FT line. Huge beard, kardashian on his hip.......... oh wait, hopefully he doesn't copy this sentence.

I told a couple of my buddies he reminded me of JJ and they laughed at me saying "you are crazy, JJ was an all-american"....I told those clowns I meant freshman year not Kennard fresh vs JJ senior....When it's said and done maybe Kennard is an all-american also

Combo of Capel, Nate, and Duhon. Among non-Duke players, Klay Thompson and Reggie Miller.

It wasn't until his jr year that JJ took it to the next level. At times he was a liability even his soph year.

He played QB in high school and finished in the top 5 in his class GPA-wise. The kid works hard and has great vision. He's very mature. I see him as a much more athletically gifted Paulus. Paulus knew where to be, but he was too slow and short to get there.

I like the Jim Spanarkle comparison. I don't think Coach will ever give Kennard or anyone else the free rein like he did JJ. Have to see a game live and warm ups to compare him with JJ. The games I've seen Kennard he does look like he could go off and get 40.

Jon and JJ, he's got a little of both. He's not lightning quick, but he's kinda sneaky quick.. He's going to be special I think.
