You only have 200 minutes of playing time in a game.
15 will cause a mass exit next year they will go where they can get minutes.
I am hoping Perry, Noah and Chandler won’t play more than mopping minutes. That means we are very good.

Gary Parrish has Kentucky 14th go figure
Good! I enjoyed making those talking heads eat crow last year! Hope they do it again.

And I'll add this to it; ESPN didn't do duke any favors focusing on flagg and duke 24-7. It has to be distracting, and I believe it got in there heads they were better then anybody else!
A little like 2015 for us! Best thing could've happened in 2015 is we lose 2 games in February.

I know it probably helps recruiting, but it has to eventually get to those freshman's heads.

By the time the roster is complete, and everything is done, we're sitting on a top 5 team heading into the season, is my guesstimate. I wouldn't mind seeing them continue to fly under the radar and have people underestimate them again, but I don't think they will. They're going to see a monster team that will be hard to handle, any way you slice it.

Coach Pope has done a hellofa job in my book, so far.

ps - on a personal note :
It was great getting to 10,000 posts and finally becoming an All American after all these years here ! I'm happy that I can make this post as #10,000. Always hopeful for the future !

Go Big Blue !

Makes no sense for Houston to be ranked #1.
Purdue looks a lot better on paper.
Houston will likely return JoJo Tugler (starter), Milos Uzan (starter), Emmanuel Sharp (starter), Terrence Arceneaux (6th man) and is adding the #2 HS Class ( #5 Chris Cenac, #13 Isiah Harwell, #20 Kingston Flemings) along with Creighton transfer Pop Isaacs (16 ppg)

Man, are we going to have some upset “fans” when they look at that list and see us higher than the entire SEC and all of those big money NIL schools…
Since you seem to know, would you mind posting the school and their available NIL? It would be informative and, much appreciated.

Borzello with ESPN has dropped UK from 6 to 9 in ESPN's Way Too Early Top 25 that he just updated this morning. He mentions Quaintance could be out a significant time but doesn't even talk about the Croatian Sensation.
ESPN is a joke. I NEVER read or watch anything coming out of there except the games themselves. And even then I put it on mute.

UL at #3 is pretty amazing. Kelsey might be the real deal
They've done well in the portal but I want to see Kelsey lead a team through a conference that has a pulse first. They beat Clemson last season and that's about it. Lost to every good team, feasted on a historically awful ACC which included teams like Stanford because that makes sense, and everyone knew they were going to lose their opening round game in the tournament with five minutes to go in the first half.

They'll be good but let's save that "real deal" tag until they beat a few good teams in a season.

Agree, im hopeful. Just want to have shooters out there. Hard to go from Brea, Jrob and even AA if in the corner to more unknowns. I'm hoping the Freshman are ready to go and Chandler takes a big step while Owehs shot improves from that hitch.

I like the team, just need a stud guard and another 4 or 5 and should be fun.
We need another big 4 think they are set at the 5

I’m sure we will keep dropping as teams like Florida add players like Lee.

We were 6th, then added Quaintance and Jelavic and dropped to 9th, while the two you mentioned and others have added players and moved up.

It kinda does to me, they have some key guys coming back like always and they’re fresh,a class is way better than normal, plus their portal haul. It may not be the flashiest but you know they will get guys that fit their culture. They will be up again all year. Heck at the start of the year people thought this Houston team was done for. They lost 3 early games and then became a title favorite.

#6 will be too low after our next 2 signings.
Depends on who we get, Oweh returning, and then how everyone plays plus health. On paper we are top 10 for sure with the ability to be top 5 if JQ is healthy and our last signing is impactful.

Some of the teams ranked higher are going to fall after some serious consideration is given.

that said, it's a laughable list from ESPN right now. Not even close to what it should be. The first 2 teams, everyone can agree upon at first blush, but from there on .... lol

How many years when Cal was here were we ranked number one or number two to start the season? only to falter early due to inexperience. These writers dont learn from experience and only do this to get everyone to read their articles. Most of them have never dribbled a basketball in their lives, and know very little about the real game of basketball. they are gifted at putting sentence's together , and that is it! lets wait until play begins. I like our roster and think we will be competitive with everyone on our schedule. Quintanses (sp?) has a chance to be special.

as for Louisville. it is obvious Pk can coach. But the ACC is really at this point a mid major conference. its like Gonzaga winning their conference now. You have two to three really nice teams and the rest are awful. The SEC and Big Ten due to football money are going to be the dominant football and basketball conferences. The ACC is going to become irrelevant in the Next five years, especially if Florida state and Miami leave.
