They lost nearly all of their Starting 5 from last year. They're currently starting 5 true freshmen. I'm not accusing them of cheating, but funny how none of them went to duke, NC, or KU, even Cincinnati. Thoughts?????

Coach Cal has it going on over there. He sells kids on the one and done dream. I doubt any funny stuff is going on but you never know in CBB.

Well maybe I should have worded that Differently, I have nothing to support they are cheating. But one thing is for sure they're very very good. Never heard of an entire Starting 5 as true freshmen. And no one is even challenging them.

Do you have evidence of cheating at Kentucky? If not, might want to read your post just below your post here. Just saying...

For what it is worth, they only start 2 freshman. The Harrison twins are sophomores and cauley-stein is a junior. Potheyress is a Junior and was a starter until he was injured. They do have 5 freshman that get significant minutes however.

There are 18 former UK players in the NBA. I'd go there too if I was a top one and done type prospect.

Kentucky? Brentwood this team is beating teams and not breaking a sweat.
They had to go to OT in back to back games earlier this year, & LSU had them by the throat a couple of games ago only to let them wriggle off the hook, so there's been a few games in which they've played down to the competition a bit, which as we know all too well is quite the dangerous way to live come March. When they're firing on all cylinders though, it's pretty much good night, drive safely.

As for the cheating, I don't think so (although I do think something was rotten in Denmark along that front in his 2 previous stops) now. Kentucky is one place where you don't have to cheat, the program sells itself. That's why it always mystified me when Sutton got busted to the degree he did when he was there. He is however, taking tremendous advantage of a loophole that for the good of CBB as a whole, needs to be closed up one way or another. One & done is a joke from where I'm sitting.

Kentucky is like FSU was this year in football. They've been living on the edge and won't make it far in the tourney this year.

Top 25 Poll:

1: Kentucky (SEC)
18: Arkansas (SEC)

That's a killer conference schedule.

Meanwhile in the Big 12: Playing both home and away:
8. Kansas
14. Iowa State
17. Oklahoma
20. Baylor
22. Okie State
23. West Virginia
26. Texas

OR the ACC:
2. Virginia
4. Duke
10. Notre Dame
12. Louisville
15. North Carolina

Kentucky WOULD NOT be undefeated playing in the ACC or Big 12. Not to say they aren't really, really good. However the constant grind of playing in a great conference would wear them down eventually.

I'll wait till the tourney to make a decision on how great the Big 12 is. I hear many commentators making the comment that the Big 12 conference is the strongest. I don't necessarily disagree but as I stated I will wait until the tourney when the best teams throughout the Div I will be represented. The Big 12 will be represented by 7 teams in the tourney and if they get two or three in the Sweet 16 then I will say the conference was the best. OU is very good but we are height challenged to an extent and it will be difficult to beat the likes of Kentucky, NC or Duke especially if our outside shot is not going down.

Oh I think Kentucky could easily be undefeated in the Big XII. In the ACC? uh no. I doubt seriously they could beat Duke twice and UVa twice.

Once again, the Big XII is getting a lot of regular season plaudits for being a great conference. And there is something to the total double round robin and overall quality of coaches and non conference records. But if OU is the second or third best team in the conference, OU cannot play with the elite teams in the country this year. Wisconsin showed us what a top five or six team looks like. We were never in the game.

It's not very often that a college team has the quality of big guys that Kentucky has. However, their youth may catch up with them in the tournament. I think there are at least three teams in the ACC that might beat them if they face them in the tournament. But I don't think anybody in the Big XII could.

In the XII- SEC matchup, it was one game from being even. I think it ended up 6-4. And there were a couple of very tight games at the end. The XII is better, but not by that much. Kansas will win the league for the 11th straight time. And they are not elite this year. Good and getting better. And if a lot of good fortune happens ..... But there is nobody in the XII that has even a solid chance to go to the final four.

BTW, Mike, Kentucky actually only has four freshmen on their entire roster. And only two of the four start, although all four are great players. Three five star guys and a high four star.

If Calipari has left town at his previous two stops, with NCAA probation nipping at his heels, who would think that it is not still going on. It's who he is.

Unless you're a Wildcat fan, Kentucky is an easy team to dislike for a number of reasons:

-- They're insanely good, which their "non-fans" resent.
-- Coach Calipari has a slimy, long-term record that speaks for itself.
-- Using the term "student-athlete" in the same sentence as Kentucky basketball is the ultimate oxymoron. I understand that university level studies aren't the primary focus for top level athletes at most places. However, Kentucky's utter disregard for that aspect is at a level that few colleges attain.
-- I'm not saying that Kentucky is the poster child for what's wrong in college sports (particularly basketball) but they come pretty close to that distinction.

You say that after the beating Clemson put on us? Kentucky? Calipari is filthy dirty, has been every place he has coached.

I read somewhere that Kentucky has 11 McDonald's AA on their roster. Has to be easy to recruit kids when you're getting that level of player.

They played for the championship as Freshman and again as Sophomores.
Wow impressive, never know that. I guess that debunks the Thierry that an incoming freshman can come right in and make a difference. It's in the eye of the beholder I guess. Lol
