"Kentucky
Record: 4-6

Remaining games: Saturday vs. Charlotte, Nov. 28 vs. Louisville.

Chances: The Wildcats need to win out and should get a win this weekend vs. Charlotte, a 2-8 squad out of Conference USA (FPI gives Kentucky a 95.1 percent chance to win Saturday). The season finale is a rivalry game and the Wildcats were in this situation last year -- needing a win to earn bowl eligibility -- but lost a back-and-forth battle 44-40. Having the game at home will help; FPI gives Kentucky a 35.8 percent chance to beat Louisville."

Don't do this to yourselves. This team and staff mailed it in long ago.

^Man, I hope so...gobigblue. Cause my gut says that we lose pretty decently.

I also hope that the coaches shake things up. Changing to Barker is a good step in the right direction, but at this point I think you have to sell out and go further than that.
-Roll out the QB's away from press
-Slant the protection schemes to help against rush
-For goodness sakes let our mobile QB's run
-Run a few trick plays
-Have some thought behind RB rotations.......i.e. give Boom a rest after several carries b/c his conditioning stinks. And don't have your homerun hitter, Boom, in for goal line situations when you have 2 guys sitting on the bench who are fresher and better in those situations.
-etc.

That is objectively not true. While the execution (both coaching and playing) was lacking against Vanderbilt the effort, aside from a WR or two, was excellent, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. This is not debateable.

I expect to see this team fight like hell to get bowl eligible. Now, whether they will succeed or not......I'm not making any predictions.

I am hoping that a productive QB will, like a rising tide, "lift all boats." We shall see.

In all sincerity, I really hope you are right.

^Agreed. If they fight like crazy and land short it will go a long way with me. I want to see them bounce back from a slide so badly......even if they lose.

Of course, it's always better if they win.

Folks, I went to the UL vs. UVA game this past Saturday and let me tell you.....this is not a great UL team. They are OK, but a very pedestrian UVA team (not as good as Vandy) gave them all they want.

As it stands right now, they would likely beat us....mostly because of our anemic offense causing our D to wear down as the game goes on. However, if Barker can change the climate, generate some offense thereby scoring points and, perhaps as important, giving our D some rest and emotional uplift.......if, if this happens then I believe we have more "talent" than they do and can win the game.

OTOH, if we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot and generate almost no offense against UL they will beat us by 7-14 points. However, if we can put a thumping on Charlotte, get some positive momentum on our side....and if we pack the house for UL then I think there is a pretty good chance we win that game.

Lot of "ifs" in that scenario..........this Saturday night will tell a lot.

I don't think you are a troll a clown or an idiot. However, I would think you to be clearly mistaken if you believe the team and staff have "mailed it in" (as I understand that term to mean "quit").

They haven't, and it was pretty evident from the Vandy game they are fighting hard to win. Now, execution was lacking, but not effort, and I actually had the stomach to watch the game twice because I wanted to watch the game specifically for effort and hustle.....it was there.

Not every player or coach has "mailed it in" but some have. I hope things change but this team and staff are dysfunctional and it's too late in the year for a major turnaround.

If Stoops had stuck with Barker the whole Vandy game I'd feel better about UL. Beating up on Charlotte's D is not gonna be how it will be like against UL's. I wish he had got more reps against a stronger D in Vandy to prep him for UL. We will 100% win this weekend, and Id probably guess we'll lose another close one to UL.

Exactly. I subscribe to the principle that the best predictor of future performance is past performance. That applies to the team as a whole and o the individuals on the team. Accordingly, I believe UK will win this Saturday. I give them a 50/50 shot at best to beat the Cardinals the following week. The sad thing is that UL is nothing special and completely beatable.

I think we have a good shot at a bowl. Charlotte is a gimme, and I like our chances of beating little brother at home. I'll be surprised if we don't beat the dirty birds for our sixth win.
