Last August when that horse lost at Ellis and came in tenth, wonder how much money I could have got betting on him to win the derby.

I was in the process of putting 100 on that horse just for fun. Wife walked in and talked me out of it.

Now she’s mad at me I didnt make the bet…
You would only profit $8,050 and then you'd had to pay taxes.:rolleyes:

Anyone see any juicy tickets posted? Have only seen a $100 to win. Gotta be a lottery ticket or two out there by bought by some 80-year-old grandma.

I had the exacta, right up until that horse wearing a number that didn't even match up with a poll position, came running out of nowhere. I got my money back on a win place bet on the 3 but damn I was jumping up and down when it looked like 3, 6 was a lock.

GREAT story. Horse wasn't even in the field till the day before. Jockey was racing in Belterra the day before...

This is a movie.

But what the hell was the guy doing in the red coat post race beating the chit out of Rich Strike, that guy needs a vacation.

It was biting the other horse. It was hyped up. Not sure if you've been around horses when they get hot but they can bite the hell out of stuff.

He was beating the chit out of it. No reason for that. My dogs bite each other but ive never taken a swing at em. That was a bit much, bad look.

Yeah ok. You obviously aren’t around horses. It’s only a bad look to the ignorant.

Did you get a look at that fat lump of **** that was punching Rich Strike? I felt sorry for the horse that had to carry his dumpling eating ***.

It definitely wasn't a perfect trip. Leon had to make 2 decisions on his path, the final one as he was running up on Messier's ***. The first one on the final turn was the most difficult as he came close to getting boxed.

Thats unbelievable. It opened up and that lil red horse was like F YOU IM TAKING IT ALL. What a badass.

Wow. Biggest upset in Derby history. Bunch of people just lost a ton of money.

That petty much shoots the Triple Crown this year. An alternate wins the Derby.
Same amount is won/lost regardless of who wins.

I think the jock gave him a perfect trip. Stayed off the insane pace & had open track in front of him for easy gliding for half the race. Great decision to go inside at the turn for home. Yes, Mess was stopping in front of him but RS so far back he had plenty of room to easily slide past him. Time not great but not bad either. Epi deserved what he got for staying near that pace. Stupid jock. Fire his as$.

Also, breeding is good. And trainer said he got better & better the longer he went and was really targeting Belmont. PP's tend to support that. Actually, I think he'd be smart to skip Preak.

The Preakness will be longer than any of his preps, and it actually sets up perfectly for him....can pick his spot closer to the pace, won't have 19 others to maneuver thru. If he is the real deal, he can actually start his kick earlier.
