Wonder how the 21 people who are positive in Ky contacted the Corona ?

Probably at the grocery stores that remain open while the restaurants and bars are closed. Surprised they haven't forced everyone to use the apps to get their groceries brought out to their cars.

Where are you getting these numbers?? Thousand people every few days? It's only had 6500 deaths as of 3 hours ago total since it's started, that's not a thousand every few days. Cite your sources, so I can take a look. There are probably hundreds of thousands of cases of this here in the USA who have gotten over it, which would exponentially lower the death percentage, they just haven't been tested.

Source on 368 deaths in Italy reported yesterday.

They reported another 349 today.

A week ago on Monday, they reported 100, the first time reaching triple digits. By Wednesday it was 200 a day. We can hope that their interventions in locking down the whole country have slowed the exponential growth, but there's a delay of probably a couple weeks from intervention until peak deaths because it takes several days to fall ill, then may take several more days to die from it.

Yesterday Spain reported 100 deaths. Watch for them to have the same progression as Italy, maybe a bit farther behind as yesterday may have been an unusual spike, looks like they reported fewer today.

We were one of the earliest states to do it. Sorry that wasn’t enough.
Never said we weren't..I simply said "he is following the Ohio Gov's lead" He is dragging his feet now on closing Movie Theaters. Should have been done already

I think most of us will be affected. I rely on surgery and surgery volume for my income. These surgeries will inevitably start to cancel more and more until only emergent, life-saving surgeries will be taking place in the OR for the foreseeable future. Which will greatly affect my bottom line.
What kind of surgery do you do ?

Tell us what proactive moves he can take or should be taking. He was one of the first, not the first, but one of that group to close restaurants and bars.
Stop travel from mainland China. (While leftists are calling it racist.)

Stop travel from Europe (new hotzone). (The day before the WHO declared Europe the new hot spot.)

Wait, that was our President, wasn't it.

You should thank him.

What we really need right now are open borders. I would love a national conversation about it right now.

Good Grief man. People do not call him racist because of stopping the travel from China. Its a well deserved description of Trump. It is quite humorous that he may be done in by a virus from China named after a beer from Mexico.

I think we all lknew it was just a matter of time.

Beshear has been very aggressive in measures, and very quick to follow examples set by other states.

Pleasantly surprised at his leadership in this crisis.
Beg to differ. It!'s a power grab and will do little to solve the problem. The restaurant ban should be challenged in court. Tn is asking for reduction of crowds instead.

It's not a power grab.

I'm a physician in the western part of the state. Doctors and nurses are all nervous that we're about to be overrun by far more sick people than we have capabilities to care for.

Social distancing has clearly been shown to work.

And the time is NOW to do it!! It can't be half-assed either!! All states should shut down inter-state travel for 2 weeks also. Kentucky only has 21 cases right now, if we shut down anyone coming into our state, it would stop the spread even FASTER!!

The only people that should be allowed to travel are those that drive trucks or have to for their work. Even those folks shouldn't leave their vehicle unless it's to gas up or eat at a Drive-Thru.

If we're going to shut everything down, let's do it right!!

Not sure what he/she does, but most hospitals around the country are putting off surgeries from heart valves to orthopedics to gallbladder removals (unless it's really acute) to make sure the beds are available.

New York Presby and Northwell have cancelled all elective surgeries through mid-April. Hopefully they’ll be able to clear up enough capacity.

If the numbers are true, only 0.0005%of people in the entire world have coronavirus. Big overreaction.

If we dont slow this thing down... everyone on the planet will get it eventually. Hell , there might not be a way to avoid it... just slow it down until we can get some vaccines and / or an antiviral that helps.

Bragging about a President that disbanded the Pandemic Response Team, called the Dems complaints about his slow virus response a hoax, said we only have 15 with it and it will be gone when it warms up and lied about saying everyone that wants a test can have one????
I do think he woke up this week and finally realizes he can't MAGA hat his way out of this one. I'm pulling for him to do well moving forward and have a feeling he gets it now, but we lost about two weeks to his denial and foolishness.

the real foolishness is the politicization of this situation by anyone

should come together instead; resume our usual bickering, finger pointing and endless bs rancor for afterwards

Well that would certainly reduce the valid criticism of how poorly the office of the President has performed, reduce the overwhelming exposure of an extremely poor and unprepared "leader" in the White House, and give stubborn ideologues throughout this country time to run for cover from valid and much deserved criticism. I can fully understand why you would want everyone to forget how completely wrong the Trumpster's have been about this President's competence from the very start. I suggest using the spare time we all are looking forward to by reading about what Theodore Roosevelt's thinking was about America and corporations, what warnings George Washington left us with, what Abraham Lincoln believed, what Dwight Eisenhower believed, and how Franklin Roosevelt damn near single-handily pulled America from the abyss. That may give you a different perspective of leadership and American values and a course to chart our future towards.

No doubt both parties have done this. The goofy Republican dude that wore a gas mask to Congress and Dems bashing every single move Trump takes are not helpful. That said, IMO the Dems were justified in their initial criticism of Trump's denial about the seriousness of this virus, but it's time to move forward and worry about the present not the past. We are all in this together.

What lies have I posted? When I said I miss Reagan, I am referring to his ability to lead, inspire and bring the majority of Americans together. You are right about his missteps regarding HIV, but that was a different time with a lot of confusion about that disease. It was unlike anything scientists had seen before.
Unlike that issue, scientists have been warning us about Coronavirus from day one and have been sounding the alarm bells loud and clear. Some just chose to plug their ears.
Just because you disagree, doesn't automatically make you correct and my opinion BS.

Here a useful idea!
Since we are all about to experience an historical event, most likely a great deal more from our home, how about the telecom companies and TV providers drop their rates so like good Americans they can suffer alongside the rest of us? Spread this idea if you like it.

We've got no basketball, no baseball, no football, no horse racing, no bars, no restaurants, no travel to Europe, no hand sanitizer, and the worst pandemic in 100 years.
WTH else do we have to talk about on this board right now??
Actually I agree 100% with this.
