on either the first or second team. By my count they're the only team in the conference without one. Pretty telling, IMO.

Well at least Stoops has brought in new assistants to remedy the problems.(DWS)

Pretty telling...Either the coaches can't coach them up(I'm in this boat) or the players they are recruiting are way overrated...

I'm not surprised. Not a single player from UK stood out as doing anything special over the course of the season. With the exception of the CB/S positions, not a single group made any real improvement as the season progressed.

FWIW, Austin MacGinnis was the only player we had on the preseason coaches First or Second Team.

Swindle and Stamps were on the preseason Third Team.

Only player who really could've cracked the All SEC team was CJ Johnson and even he was inconsistent. Melvin Lewis would've had a chance as would Boom but injuries took them out of the picture. Most of UK's better players were freshmen, RS freshmen or sophs. Hope it changes in the years to come.

Okay, somebody please explain to me how Stoops is knocking it out of the park with his recruiting but the rest of the league has no respect whatsoever for his troops

Please, one of you great football gurus who have been touting "recruiting" as the cover for Joker and now Stoops, explain this to me: why do the SEC coaches not see what you so clearly see and beat over the head of the rest of us out here???

TIA for your knowledgable response

This is absolutely pathetic and sad. Stoops should rethink everything now. I mean this sums up a loser program and team right now. This is very unsettling. Pathetic.

Yep..Stoops only needs 10 more years to get his talent in here and we'll be all set..never mind the fact that every single player on the team has gotten worse under Stoops and his staff. Pretty telling, IMO

Shoot that's nothing, some fans have gotten worse too.

This tells you everything you need to know about the state of program, where's Boom and Baker at? LOL

This has to be sarcasm. Lol.

Boom Williams is very good, but he was not better than Derrick Henry or Leonard Fournette this year. Also, Dorian Baker wasn't even the best WR on the team. let alone in the conference.

I mean the only people that even had a chance were Toth or Cory Johnson. Westry will probably be on the freshman team, as well as Conrad.

I get the sarcasm with reference to Baker, but as to Boom? He was one of the few SEC caliber players we had. I'd have to check out everyone's stats to see how close he might have come to all-conference but he is a very good player under any measure.

I did check the stats, and he was 10th in overall yards; 2nd in yards per carry, behind Chubb. He can't get mitigating circumstances for missing the EKU game, which was his own fault, but should for missing a lot of action due to injury. Had he stayed healthy all year, he would have probably finished around sixth or seventh in total yards rushing, still would have been near to top in per carry, and so he would have just missed out on second team (since they took 2 RB for each team).

Has there been any credible information that's come out about why Boom didn't play against EKU?

What I know for a fact about Boom, though, is that he plays his @ss off when he's in the game. He's the best offensive threat UK has had since Cobb, and I'm willing to forgive whatever transgression occurred as long as it doesn't become a lingering problem (and I haven't noticed any signs of that being the case).

Yeah, he quit the team after the Missouri win, why, because the coaches benched him for not pass blocking . He sulked, and quit, Stoops talked him out of it, he sat out one game as punishment, but that selfish act was the first shoe to drop with team morale.

If UK had squeezed out 2 more wins we still wouldn't have any players on there. Then people would say how amazing is it that UK won 7 with no all sec players.

It speaks more to a lack of respect around the league for UK than the players. There were some that deserved it. Forrest should have made it. MacGinnis would have made it if he was healthy. CJ Johnson and Toth could have made it but they weren't slam dunks.

Pretty sweeping generalization, IMO.....Elam, Melvin Lewis, Hatcher immediately come to mind as having improved since they have been at UK.....I am certain you went down the entire roster player by player......

Stoops 1st complete recruiting class was 2014 - those guys are RS freshman and true sophomores - not smart to expect those guys to be all over these lists this year.

The #1 player in the 2014 class went to Alabama - he has 12 tackles this year...

The jury is still out about his classes - but the 0 players on ALL SEC team isn't really evidence of his classes being overrated.
