Look at the pure joy on Lil One’s face as he discovers the jerky counter...

I've been in the one here a couple of times. Very nice. Cumberland Farms is closer and if you use their app to pay, you get 10 cents per gallon off and reward points. Does Wawa have some sort of program like that? Really hope it's true that we get the one at Okeechobee and US-1.

We have Stewarts and Cumberland Farms in the Cap district in NY, both are solid.

I'm unsure about Wawa gas programs. Believe it or not, except for renting a car once in 2015, I've used public transportation, rode a bicycle or bummed rides during every other visit to FL over the past 10 years. Orlando, Lakeland and Tampa offer excellent public transportation options.

Sun Rail in the Orlando area was a great way to get around.

E’town is getting a truck stop (in the middle of about 6 others in 20 miles on 65) and it’s not a Buc-ee’s.
Pissed.
Now, I’ll have to drive through a major intersection daily, on jacked up pavement, dodging semis and won’t even have a clean ******* to use in case I can’t make it home.

Like all things Texas, they're overrated.

Barbecue is nasty as all get out. Why pass by all the barbecue joints in Texas and Kentucky to eat there? Most of the food is bad. Got some banana pudding once that tasted like vanilla yogurt someone whispered the word banana into. The fudge is good. Certainly more chips. The selection of soda and beer isn't any more than typical 7-11.

It's fine. I like that it makes Pilot and Loves stops less busy.

Well, Buc’ee can’t do everything right. That is a disappointing. You can’t make a donut ala mode with freakin dippin dots.

Dippin Dots were created by a UK grad in southern Illinois. Respect that. Headquarters in Ky.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ch...covid-coronavirus-vaccine-pfizer-15822066.php

. Dippin’ Dots was founded by a microbiologist
In 1988, Curt Jones was working in a Lexington, KY lab developing a flash freezing process using liquid nitrogen. At home, he was churning homemade ice cream, and, long before people were paying hundreds of dollars for molecular gastronomy, he aimed his liquid nitrogen rays at that homemade ice cream. Dippin' Dots were born.

Not sure if he did this first at UK or at new grand chain, I've heard both stories

Craft beer selection at Royse City location seemed decent when I stopped there on Dec 26, 2019 en-route to Arkansas. I grabbed a six of Abita Amber on sale for $6.99. Beats 7-11 prices.

Deer stands and firewood available at Temple, TX outlet. Can't find those products at your typical convenience store. As previously stated, bagged ice prices rock.

So, yeah, they've earned my 4x-6x annual business.

Like to see them move up I75 but Kroger is pretty well entrenched.
According to him, expansion plans further north are certainly in the works. Stores now open in TN. I know they've looked closely at Louisiana, TX and KY.

He told me they went after Winn Dixie really hard, which explains WD store closures over the past 15 years. Publix actually trolled the heck out of WD. Couple years ago, Publix purchased some billboard advertising their brand; this huge sign was located outside the Winn Dixie HQ in Jacksonville. Unsure if still up. Crazy. [laughing]

Agreed. Kroger is very well entrenched in KY. Personally speaking, I enjoy shopping there.

the meat section at the Kroger closest to me is very hit or miss. Last time I went I got a really good, thick ribeye. The time before that the steaks were all paper thin and tiny. Didn't even bother

Imagine a supersized Bucees called Jungle Jim's.
Dude! I hit up Jungle Jim's Eastgate a few years ago while visiting my long-time buddy and his wife. Beer selection is beyond criminal. Hell, I spent over $100 just on craft beer.

Combine it with Buc-ee's at every out-of-the-way location and your talking $billions and $billions.

I live in E'town again and did not know this. Would have loved a Buc-ee's. Used to live close to the Big T truck stop growing up. Beaver Dam has a Huck's Food And Fuel in the middle of the WK Parkway. It's literally like taking a pit stop in NASCAR on the left side of the road and drive right back onto the WK. Best thing about it, a Godfather's pizza.

I live 10 minutes away from the one in Royse City on the Rockwall and Hunt County border. I frequent there whenever I work for lunch and gas whenever I'm working in the field. Glad Kentucky is finally getting one... You guys are in for something incredible!

Never heard of them. Looks like mostly Texas locations, but I guess they are expanding...
