It is absurd for the SEC ( UK) to be talking about anyone else getting preferential treatment. You know the difference between puppies and UK fans? Puppies stop whining after 6 weeks.

Somebody should let Cal know, that's how you take a group of freshman to a championship win!

Congratulations Duke. I am a Kentucky fan but also a college basketball fan. I respect how you all played tonight. There was a will to win and effort that can't be denied. Props to Allen and Jones in particular.

I don't care what other Cats fans say. I was rooting for Duke. Congrats on a great season. It was a great season with many great games. As a huge basketball fan the best one I saw all season involved your team and North Carolina. Congrats, again.

Ignore them. They criticize K but would love to have him.

Just like they hated Cal when he was at Memphis but then he became the best thing ever when he took over their program.

UK fans are more gracious than UNC fans will ever be. They hate that they didn't win a title, but UNC hates that WE won the title. They hate that K is one ring away from lapping Dean for the 2nd time!

On a positive note, their tears taste surprisingly good in pancake batter!

Jealous? no, a little envious of watching DUKE win when I thought this was UK's year? You bet!!! Ha Ha!!

In all seriousness, what can you say about DUKE and Coach K other than you deserved it and earned it!! Congrats on an incredible season!! Coach K is the best coach in America and I do enjoy watching the way your Team plays, strong fundamentals, tenacious on both ends!!

Enjoy it you deserve it!!

I don't believe there is envy or a reason to be envious. Kentucky has a program to be proud of and we are certainly very proud of our school and our program. Duke played well in the tournament. We can sit and pick apart officiating, seeding, and whatever else, but at the end of the day you stepped into the ring with Wisconsin and won.

I have a question for you which I think is relevant now more than ever. Duke won with four one and done freshman who produced 60 of its 68 points in the national championship game. This morning ESPN ran a piece complimenting Duke on their ability to adjust with the times. Of course, Coach Calipari has been portrayed as the antichrist for making the most of the one and done rule. Are Duke fans fine with one and done players coming to Duke? Is this something you're fine with happening year after year? It seems Coach K has come around, but I have to wonder about the fans.

While certainly enjoying the 5th title, I am still against OAD players. Should be made to stay three years, or go straight to the pros. OFC

I'm a carolina fan and congratulate you with the utmost sincerity. Growing up I always rooted for the ACC. When I moved out of NC, that allegiance only grew. In recent years with the hatred spread on social media, it's been tough. However, I know many great Duke fans and have decided I will not let few bad ones ruin this form of entertainment for me. I enjoy good natured ribbing and will continue with that. I refuse to hate other teams more than I love mine or to have so much hatred in the rivalry to not be able to pull for you guys against outsiders. Here's to a few more years of back and forth between the schools. Next year may be OUR year........the ACC always win nattys in groups! I just don't know who guards Grayson Allen.......wow za!

Kentucky had a special year and they deserve recognition for it. Cal is a helluva recruiter, kudos to him. And yes I take issue with anyone harping about OAD trying to slam Cal. Duke goes after OAD kids and may have three this year. Screw Bo Ryan and his "we don't do rent a player" comment. You don't do National Championships either Bo!

Hats off to KY on a great year, I'm sure it was tough to see hated Duke win it but only one team is gonna be smiling when this thing is over anyhow.

Congrats to National Champion Duke!

UK alum and diehard here. In no way jealous of Duke. My best friend is a Duke grad and we watched many Duke and UK games together. I told him 2 games in to the tournament that Duke's defense was going to be the difference this year. They flat got it done. Obviously, I wanted our guys to meet in finals, but didn't get it done.

Congrats on a tremendous season and ignore what the idiots say. I don't care who you play or where you play them, to win 6 in a row for a title is the name of the game. Enjoy your win!

It now begs the question: Who had a worse post game press conference, Bo Ryan or Harrison?

Huffy,

Bo Ryan by a wide margin. I don't take any issue with what Harrison said, just when he said it. He made good on his comments. Bo Ruan is suppose to be a leader ignoring men, setting an example ect.... He comes off like a dbag who didn't get his way. Harrison, IMO, was just doing what any of us have done when we lose. I've said things similar to some of my best friends. Ryan took subtle shots at everyone but his team and himself when they simply got out classes down the stretch.

Bern, you may be right. UNC will be tough next year. Thanks for the grats. Nothing like sweeping your rival and winning a Natty. And I am going to enjoy it because the shoe could be on the other foot next year.

Four one and done freshman?

I only see 2 that are pretty much guaranteed to leave.

Cat fan here also, great season and congrats on the championship. Thought you guys pushed all the right buttons all season. Rememer TV announcers proclaiming after losing to NC state that Duke has fallen, yada, yada yada. They were so wrong. Anyway who would not want K as their coach? Besides maybe Wisconsin :) anyway enjoy this and congrats again.

I agree with this, but add the caveat that they should be able to go straight from HS to the NBA if they want (free market capitalism); however, if they choose college then there should be a 2 year minimum (preferably 3) at the least.

With all due respect to the OP, I don't feel that way, and I have been bleeding blue my whole life. I respect the hell out of Coach K, especially in the modern era of NCAA basketball. We are in a time where one and done rules the roost, and coaches bounce around like a kid with ADHD. I would love for KY to have another coach that sticks around for decades.

I salute Duke, and their accomplishments this season. My only regret is that Kentucky did not get a chance to play them for the title. That would have been an epic game.

Big difference, as pointed out in another article. Cal recruits the kids to basically push them out the door (see, Harrison kids). Duke recruits kids they want and if they leave, ok. They stay, fantastic.

ANYTHING basketball related that Mike Krzyzewski is ok with, adapts to, and uses to mold his group of players into a TEAM is fine by me. Doesn't matter to me if its OADs, welcoming certain transfers, or choosing to redshirt certain players. Coach K is a leader of men and my complete trust stands behind not only Coach K, but also behind his methods for creating young men both off & on the court.
