When you look at this series, it is amazing that we have not pulled a true upset since 1981 against a good or very good Tennessee team. While I am sure they were favored in 2011, UT had a really bad team that year. But what few times we have won (1976, 1977 and 1984) we had the better team in reality. Every series has a few upsets, no matter how one sided the talent seems to be in a given year. Man, we are really due to pull one off today. For some reason, I have a pretty good feeling about this game.

We have already seen the Cubs win the WS and Trump win the White House, maybe this is the year the stars align.

Would like nothing better than a UK W to totally ruin UT's season on their "Return to Glory." But UK lacks defensive pressure and makes too many mistakes on O to win this game. And that doesn't even take into consideration the total lack of energy UK's shown in this game in recent years. A UK win is the longest of longshots not so much because UT is some epic powerhouse but because UK lacks focus vs UT. Unless things change within UK's team UT wins easily.

Yes they are,UK is way overdue to pull an upset anywhere. When was the last time you remember us winning a game we really weren't supposed to win.I'm not trying to knock anyone here but it seems to me it has been a long time. It is just another unique example of the strange saga of UK football,we seem to win our 3 to 5 games each year but never spring the head turning upset.I'm not sure this one falls into that category but a 2 TD dog posting a win is a pretty big deal.

Have a bad feeling about this one as well, there is just nothing you can hang your hat on to make a case for a UK win, even if they tried I'm not sure UT can screw up enough to give us this one, maybe if they turned the ball over 4 or 5 times we might take advantage and win.

Kinda my point doc, UK lacks the prowess on D to force 4-5 turnovers. The lack of turnovers forced, tackles for loss and sacks is disheartening. Notice Miggins, Bell, Carter, Daniel at DE today. They seldom get within 5 yds of the QB. Disappointing.

They might not have been good in 11 but that game will always be considered a huge upset because we won with a WR playing qb that prepared for only a few days with zero threat of passing. We ran like 3 different plays that day. I still don't know how it happened. We weren't good either.

Three teams we beat this year have already had major upset wins. Vandy beating Georgia, MSU over Texas A&M and South Carolina over Tennessee.

Yes I think it should be our turn today.

Point well taken, why can't we do something like that,I just don't get how we don't accidentally have a game like that at some point. I think UGA is a better team than we gave them credit for being, wouldn't surprise me to see them win today, yet they lose to Vandy. We were right there but just couldn't get over the hump.

We probably won't do it today but I would love to see us pull out all the stops for one game,go for broke, trick plays blitz on defense,go for it on multiple occasions on 4th down and just put pressure on the other team and keep them off balance all day.

I guess if you keep predicting upsets over UT, FL, & UGA, it will eventually happen. It seems like we do this to ourselves almost every week, every year. I will alway enjoy a win or an upset, but I've just started being realistic. We need a little bit better defense and a stud QB to win games like this. Don't get me wrong I will cheering like hell and pulling for the boys!

UK has the best or 2nd best rushing attack in SEC...that is plenty to hang our hat upon. And UT is a pedestrian rush defense at best.

Well ,there is that.Seriously, yes we can run the ball but we will have to have help or a few breaks to make up for the things we haven't done well this year.I expect us to be more competitive today than we have in the last couple of years vs UT but if recent history is any indicator we have a big orange hill to climb.I think we have to do what we do well today(run the ball) +think and play outside the box on things we haven't done well to date.

Your comment about the D and QB is absolutely on point. Not knocking anybody, that's just 2 areas that need upgrading and by all indications they're busting their can to get it done.

We shouldn't let past years performances by these teams cloud our judgement of a game in 2016 imo.however also I will admit my UK fandom clouds my judgement! I think Cats have an even chance of winning this game!

As fans, we have waited so long to beat the traditional elite SEC teams.
Most of us cheer, scream and shout with all our hearts, but always expect
that phantom interference call, or the dropped interception or the personal foul
that negates the winning play. It's happened way too often.

I'll be wearing blue today and cheering my heart out.
Maybe we can break the jinx today and beat a good SEC team on the road...

Every college football fan has seen a game were everything went the wrong way for the favored team.
Goodness knows it's happen to us enough.

Maybe today karma says it's your turn Tennessee.......

I'd say LSU is the obvious one, but we had a solid team that year. Anytime you beat the eventual national champs (albeit a 2 loss champ) that is a game you are probably not supposed to win.

I know the 2009 team beat 2 8 win teams in AU and UGA, but they were both 7-5 going into bowl season (as was UK).

I don't think UGA is better than you thought we were going to be, I don't think UK is as good as many think it is either. Both of us fall in the the group of mediocre teams that make up the SEC East. I don't think any of us are much better than any of the rest including Missouri and UF, any one of us is capable of beating anyone of the other division on any given Saturday. Every team has some serious question marks and some decent strengths. The team I wouldn't want to play right now is Carolina, burning the RS of Bentley made them much more dangerous offensively. Won't surprise me if they beat UF today, the rest of us have some real issues with qb and/or OL play right now.

Really disappointing at how weak the East has gotten in what seems like overnight. How hard is this to believe, other than the importance of the game, but it a matchup of the "Deans" of head coaches in the East and each is in their 4th year.

Interesting observation Deee. I had not really thought about things in that perspective. The mediocrity, uncertainty, uncharacteristic, etc. (insert your own definition here) of the SECE this year has had me scratching my head all season long. I really don't know what to expect in this one.

Peace

As soon as we can convert third downs and get touchdowns instead of field goals consistently we can win games like this, until then we can only beat average teams.

Yeh, to actually win a game like this, you need to catch the football when it hits you in the hands. The other teams receivers don't seem to have this problem.

They use to call the B10 "Big 2 little 8". I think right now they could call the sec "Big 1,13 other pretty good teams".

Grump, you may be selling your dogs a bit short after today, back to the point we see some of the teams UK has beaten playing some decent football and teams we can't get close to beating playing like crap some of the time. I don't think the reason is simply that UK is that god awful but then I also don't have a clue why I see UK do some of the things they do.
