This is Kentucky basketball. Win or stay home. We haven't been to the promised land in 13 years. Haven't sniffed a FF in a DECADE.

Excuse me if my patience is growing thin.
This is the 3rd game of the season dude. This ain't the NCAAT.
It's a long season and last I checked, tournament games aren't played on the opponents home floor.

Not many teams are going to shoot it like UL just did, UL included. We will be fine.

Honestly besides the runs where we went down 20, the final score was about what I expected.
I agree with that. Once Pope adjusted and slowed the game down, we showed a lot of promise. I expect we will grind against teams like Bama and run against teams that want to grind it. We have the versatility and roster to do it

“Only one team wins the tourney so it’s okay we never had a legitimate chance of winning it in the first place”. Again, I’m just saying he has t proven **** yet. He can still prove it, but people acting he’s done something are basically cheering on late period tubby.
And you have your head up your butt if you think last year wasn’t a success given the circumstances. Sorry, that’s just the facts. Tonight’s game wasn’t as bad as it appeared. Don’t turn the ball over, Make a few free throws and this is a different outcome.

Bash and trash all you want. Quit on the cats as you appear to have done. We have the ingredients for a good team.

People will point to three point shooting, but UL only made one more than Kentucky and actually shot about 2% worse from three.

Turnovers were killer. The fact that Louisville missed 7 straight free throws in the final minute and Kentucky didn’t score one time is criminal. Aberdeen was really good. Nice to see Williams get going. I think Moreno just impacts the game more than Garrison. Gotta get more from Garrison and Dioubate

We had a chance and choked it away. The missed front end by Lowe was the final nail.

Lowe and Oweh forced a lot of plays that turned into turnovers, or missed shots. That has to change. Need those guys to be so much better.
My opinion as well. We took it on the head in the first half and fought back, same in the second half. Down 20 with 12 left and we still had our chances down the stretch. We showed fight and we showed we are capable to have big runs against good competition.

Louisville played their A game and we played C basketball and were still in the game at their house and had a chance to pull the miracle comeback. I’m not worried about our team at all. It’s going to be all about lineups and the rotation moving forward for me, we get that in line and we will have a chance in March.

People criticizing the coaching is not bashing dude. You’re trying too hard to defend bad coaching. Pope is a great coach and he will be better after this one. It’s early

Too early for that. Doesn’t look like it right now.

When, (if?), JQ is playing major minutes we can take a second look

We will definitely not be a 1 seed with Garrison manning the paint.

Or if Oweh is truly our best player.
You’re right but #1 seeds can’t lose too many games or you don’t get #1 seeds especially against decent teams. We have strike 1 against us tonight. These are the type of games you need to win if you want a #1 seed. We beat like 9 ranked teams last year and still couldn’t come away with a 1 seed because we also lost some head scratchers we have to avoid those and we really can’t lose no more than probably about 5-6 games if we plan on getting a 1 seed.

Not gonna lie, I don't wanna see them either. We are gonna be fine, but Louisville is legit. I'm very concerned about the pg position going forward.
Not concerned about PG. Have 2 guys that are good just need Lowe to realize he isn't on Pitt anymore.

Wouldn't mind at all playing UL on a neutral court in the tourny.

Lowe was subpar tonight and abysmal at the end of the game.

Oweh had his head up his a$$ the entire game.

Kam Williams' emergence was the only silver lining from tonight. Well, and Aberdeen is a dog, but we kinda knew that.

Donovan Dent was option #1 at point guard. We got Lowe.
Lamar Wilkerson was option #1 at shooting guard. We got Kam Williams.
Caleb Wilson was option #1 at power forward. We got Mo D.

The reality is that our coaching staff paid a shizz load of money for second options, and it showed tonight.

Yep. I appreciate the fighter who doesn't lose on his knees . But championships aren't won in moral victories.

We earned the L. We have to live with it. UofL was the better team tonight.
Yeah they were. But whenever we do win #9, we won't be undefeated whem we do it. No shame tonight

You’re the one being a *****, complaining about people giving justified criticism. We’re Kentucky. Expectations are high. You can’t deal with that you have no business being here.
Justified critisism? No, you guys were killing Pope and even went as far as discrediting what he did last year.
Whatever, y'all just need a nap and some sliced apples.

Plenty of people have been saying he’s a role player. Last year he was forced to be kind of the savior. He has the ugliest three point shot in basketball and now he is to good to hustle.

Should have kept his damn dreads
He is more of Will Richard/Martin than Clayton

But he thinks he is #1 option, and seems it can not work now

I do believe we lose because Oweh is worse than Brown, our #1 guy is worse

Aberdeen, Chandler, Kam, Moreno matches their 2-5 guy well

Well well the law of averages worked out and Louisville won one, bout time. I admire the fact we didn’t quit. But we got a lot of work to do on defense. Lowe was rusty and made some uncharacteristic turnovers, Oweh played like has has regressed. Mo didn’t play well, not sure why, their less heralded players wore our heads out. Louisville is not going to shoot like that every game where the whole starting five hit several but they did tonight and we still had a chance at the end. Chandler and Aberdeen left it on the floor, Moreno did play well for a freshman. Garrison was his usual self not much. Williams come in a gave us a lift, on to the next game. I do want to see some fire out of Pope, especially when he knows we can do better, I think we have the pieces, it’s just finding the right combinations.

Kenpom defensive efficiency now 8th in the nation for everyone trashing the D as why we lost. Too many turnovers and bad decisions is why we lost. We protected the ball and played under control and we beat them. We will be fine, I’m excited about this team. My only issue is PG minutes moving forward. Need to see Johnson step up and Aberdeen may need to slide into the role more than I’d like. Lowe will be okay, but has to show more control and a higher IQ.

Let's hope Pope isnt as stubborn as Cal is. Because hes gonna start to be asked questions like "why is Garrison starting over Moreno/Jelavic?" If we continue to struggle.

The roster choices can be chalked up to a new team and still figuring that out. But, it has to be addressed. No one is safe from not starting.. and that includes Garrison and Oweh.
