SEMO starts this off with a single through the left side, but Cam Hill comes up firing and puts a laser onto second and the tag is put on the runner trying to stretch it into a double and the umpire calls him out. Review under way, but that is a great throw. Call stands up. Assist for Hill. Great throw.

Sorry, I missed an out. Two outs after Cam gets the assist. Cottongame then gives up a liner down the right field line past third and into the corner that goes for an easy double.

Cottongame then gives up a full count walk before getting ahead 0-2 and then letting that slide back to even. Just no great out pitch. However, he does leave a hanging breaking ball down broadway and the SEMO hitter gets under it and pops it up to Grace to end the top of the 1st.

No harm, no foul, but a shaky start for BC.

Haha, oh yea, I was right. McNeely starting for SEMO. lol, this is a rare occasion.

UK threatening early with runners on first and second with no outs as Curtis reached on a throwing error and Anu rips a hanging pitch between first and second for a single.

Collett follows it up with a single to center to load the bases with no outs early for UK.

Kessler struggling, but hits one sharply to first. SEMO goes home to get the out, but that is all they get. Schultz now up. He hits one off of the handle and it is a pop up just behind the pitcher. It is in no man's land and the SS barehands it and throws out Schultz, but it goes an RBI. 1-0 Kentucky. Not exactly the type of contact you want, but it worked out all right.

Shelby works ahead 3-0 before taking a strike and then fouling off a fastball. He then hammers one right to the centerfielder for out number 3.

Got a run, but should have been a huge inning.

Braxton gets a great strikeout but then gives up a walk. He helps himself though with a good pickoff move that catches the runner. He throws behind him and Collett puts the ball in a bad spot, but Grace makes a diving tag for out number 2.

CG gets that curve/slider working and gets another swinging strikeout to head to the bottom of the second.

UK up 1-0.

Cam gets a good pitch to hit, but gets under it just a bit and it finds a glove in mid-left center.

You know, if Kentucky cared more about who was at bat than the runner on first, maybe they wont have 103 walks in a game.

Alright. Got win #1. Baseball depends a lot on chemistry. Players knowing their roles. Now at home develop some great chemistry relax gain confidence in each other and get a win streak started. Let the season play out before shoveling dirt on the coaches and team. Be positive

Well, stats are steadily improving. Went from hitting .194 as a team to hitting .224. Still just 4 guys hitting above .250 and only 5 hitting above .200, so need those numbers to keep climbing. Especially from Daniel, Collett, Anu, and Kessler. Those guys are big parts of the offense and cannot continue to struggle.

Pitching was still a bit of a disappointment yesterday. Cottongame flashed some really good stuff, but also left too many mistake pitches and when he walked hitters he let it hurt him. SEMO had a really bad weekend hitting, but it didn't look that way against UK. Game was in some serious danger early as we let them exchange runs with us.

Luckily, I have a friend who bought high dollar seats and he is in Florida for the next couple of weeks. When I sit up there I can go inside to warm up if I get too cold. There are also overhead heaters. Much warmer than my normal seats.

Hahaha you can look down at all the peasants and their blankets, freezing half to death.
