Kentucky's finger-pointing is the locker room's sobering realization this isn't getting fixed

I don't know why people keep saying "we are at risk of missing the tournament" like Pilgrim did in there. We're on the outside looking in. We're not "at risk." We have a lot of work to do to build a tournament resume and I have little confidence we can do it.

Right. We are out. There's no question that if the field was chosen today we wouldn't be in it. We have to play our way in now. Which is possible. Unlikely, but possible.

We have a gauntlet of teams left to play. I agree. There is close to no chance this team makes the tournament. We may not even get invited to the NIT. That ship has sailed.

This is what happens when you build a roster primarily of guns for hire. It's not really all Pope's fault, but the new college sports.

It is 100% pope’s fault why do yall say **** like that? He makes millions of dollars to evaluate talent and build a team. He failed MISERABLY in every possible way.

UConn and Michigan and Duke and Alabama and Vandy don’t seem to be struggling with ‘the new college sports’.

Just so strange to me how many people blame UK’s struggles on money or the new transfer portal rules. There are extremely good teams out there including Michigan who has a lot of ‘guns
For hire’ just like we do. The difference is they have a coach who knows what he’s doing and we don’t.

At this point, I'm worried we even make the freakin' NIT. And that's not a joke.
At this point, NIT might be best case scenario.

1.) We aren’t winning anything of substance anyway in the actual tournament.

2.) At least you can make a case to change coaches if he misses the NCAAT.

3.) We can actually win some games in the NIT and make up some ground vs Kansas in all-time wins.

GO NIT!

We might not even be good enough for the NIT. Let that sink in.

So basically Mo D is the one arguing with others and is the problem? Is he the only one? It seems so as of late. I have seen BG do it and Oweh do it in past games.

I have to say that for last nights game Mo D tried "too hard" and he's not the guy to take the game on his back. But he did hustle, just that over hustle caused a lot of bad errors and turnovers. Maybe he's pissed because "he's trying" even though some what failing while trying.

I don't know.

The hierarchy is clear:

1. Mitch's fault. Pope should have never been hired.
2. Pope's fault, for not being the guy.
3. Player's fault for not executing.

Top 2 SEC teams that did not make the NCAA tournament get auto byes into the NIT. If we are somehow behind two other SEC teams in terms of missing the NCAA's then we don't deserve to play in anything.

If we qualified for the NIT and didn’t play in it, I’d be beyond pissed. We need every win we can to not get passed by Kansas
I’m gonna catch **** for this, but I don’t care about all time wins.

Why? Kansas has played 100+ more games then Kentucky has in their history.

If everyone’s number of total games played was the same or similar, I would be more proud of the record. Even if KU passes us in wins, big deal. They still have 100 more losses than we do.

I care more about all time winning percentage, which we lead at 76%. Next closest is UNC at 73% followed by KU at 72%.

NIT? . This team might make the 2021 team look like all stars. I'm wondering if they will even win a game in the SEC

This team lacks a leader. Lowe is not it and will not be it. Oweh and Aberdeen have some kind of friction going on. Mo D might be trying to take that position but it's clear the other don't see him as that, yet. I honestly hope he manages to be the leader, but I'm not sure he can do that without elevating his level of play. Not sure he has another level in him.

I care about both. I track all-time wins, all-time win %, tournament wins, tournament win %, and a whole lot of other factors. I keep a very detailed ranking of all-time programs. I’m not just a Kentucky fan —- I’m a massive CBB fan and love history.

I agree with you but we are UK fans and know all of this stuff. To the world being on top in wins is a big deal. I was pissed when we lost it before and will be again if it happens. And it looks like it's going to happen.

I respect that and I know it’s really hard to quantify every program’s early period up through the 1930s and 40s.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to keep all time wins. But if we lose it, it’s not the end of the world. We lost it to UNC in the 80s and got it back. The thing that hurts us most is we’re more feast or farmine where KU never has really bad years even if their highs aren’t nearly as high as ours. They haven’t missed a tournament since 88-89. We’ve missed 6 and and are looking at 7. Is it too much to ask for Kansas to suck once? Lol

Think about the good luck of going from Roy Williams to Bill Self. May be the greatest coaching transition in college basketball history.

pure nonsense .. you can gig MP for the roster and that's right on .. There is no coach alive who could make these misfits a competitive team

Hope all the Rafters coaches on here are happy that Chandler and Noah are relegated to little and no time ...
That leaves exactly one shooter that plays and he doesn't start
