Yeah, his little pow wow last year with the media made a lot of sense. They were all so unfair to him...calling him a backup when he was #4 or #5 on the list. The nerve of 'em.
All the boosters of substance and ASUN were also in on the deal, as was Innocents Society. Pretty sure the coaches were still objective though.
At Sparty he will be more than just a starter. In an interview he told the media that they would only need one DT to play, which is him, they are going to name him captain as well as head coach in waiting once Dantonio retires. Once he is drafted first overall in next years draft he will then become the 1st player/head coach in NFL history. This way he never has to worry about being a backup to anyone at any level.
Some of the SEC schools called him a backup so he turned them down,Laughing
