I'm with you. Something seems weird here, but I also temper that with that it is spring and until we hit the field and show what we can do for once, I won't buy into any hypeWhile I'm happy that a transfer we brought in is athletic, I expect these guys to help and compete. Seems like they're usually better than what we've got. Makes one wonder why our guys aren't better.
Ahh, hyperbole season! My favorite!
Not true. I have it on good authority that they are, in fact, all equally unathletic. There is no most athletic.Someone has to be the most athletic OL.
Per Parker G., he's possibly the most athletic offensive lineman on the roster.
Can we transfer in some strength and conditioning???While I'm happy that a transfer we brought in is athletic, I expect these guys to help and compete. Seems like they're usually better than what we've got. Makes one wonder why our guys aren't better.
Benhart needs to hit the portalOT: Teddy
OG: Nouili
C: Turner
OG: Williams
OT: Benhart
Benhart needs to hit the portal
Perhaps Benhart plays better in attack mode driving forward rather than waiting and reacting (and getting out juked in space). We will see - maybe Raiola's approach suits him better.Benhart needs to hit the portal
We can always hope, because he is a sieve at RT.Perhaps Benhart plays better in attack mode driving forward rather than waiting and reacting (and getting out juked in space). We will see - maybe Raiola's approach suits him better.
Put the 5 best out there, move em around and see what we got.I suggest we wait until the first few games before making an evaluation about the “new” offensive line. Winking
Cautiously optimistic.. It's difficult to not drink the kool aid, but we heard the same stuff last year about the line from SF leading up to the start of the season. Maybe it was only intended to give them confidence.I'm with you. Yeah. I’m a fan so I’ll consume a little koolaid but won’t chug til we play a game. I am excited to see our RBs and QB playCautiously optimistic.. Anyway, we have a schedule that should be pretty helpful and I'm def excited to see what the new offense looks like during the spring game.
Same here. I pay zero attention to Frost's hyperbole, his credibility is shot.Cautiously optimistic.. It's difficult to not drink the kool aid, but we heard the same stuff last year about the line from SF leading up to the start of the season. Maybe it was only intended to give them confidence.

yeah, I agree with your assessment.. have to see how things go.. it could be one hell of an offensive attack with those wideouts and running backs. What I like about CT is his quick decision making. Part of what made the OL look so bad last year was the last guy's inability to see the field and make a quick decision. Your OL doesn't have to block for 5+ seconds if your QB is getting the ball out before that.. And then once defenses start dropping back into a zone to take that away, Yant/Grant could pop them for another 10+ yards. It truly could be a multi-headed monster on offense. (Sorry, too easy to chug the kool aid)Same here. I pay zero attention to Frost's hyperbole, his credibility is shot.
I really do like the idea of Raiola making some movements along the OL, and sounds like Whipple seems to be settling on Manning, Palmer and Betts all in the slot, whatever alphabet letter that position is.
Those are potentially 3 really good players operating out of the same spot. Any of the 3 might do the job. Maybe none of the 3 have even had their best chance to shine yet.
I "think" NU could have some new spirits from some of the returning kids who may not have gotten a totally fair shake at playing time.
Bringing in new coaches who may be willing to start from Day 1 giving everyone a chance is really a refreshing change from knowing AM and Cam are penciled in as career starters before they took a gametime snap.
"Although", it does "kinda" look like Thompson is gonna be "the man" early.
