And all those union jobs too.....

"I want to thank the Obama Administration for protecting the health of the American people and the health of the planet by rejecting the ill-advised Keystone tar sands pipeline, which would have brought the filthiest oil known to humankind into our country in large amounts,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said.
Meanwhile 2016 hopeful Bernie Sanders called support for the pipeline "insane."
"It is insane for anyone to be supporting the excavation and transportation of some of the dirtiest fuel on earth. As someone who has led the opposition to the Keystone pipeline from Day 1, I strongly applaud the president’s decision to kill this project once and for all,” Sanders said.

This project was truly shovel ready. On the one hand, Obama wanted the huge stimulus for "shovel ready jobs". Now he claims this project would not stimulate the economy. I don't understand his logic.

I believe the answer is one of Obama's biggest supporters, Warren Buffett. This will start a war between unions and the radical greens.

Would these be long-term jobs? Would this lower gas prices? Would this cut our dependence on foreign oil? I didn't see this as doing any of those. Maybe I'm wrong. I admit, I didn't keep up with it very much. But it seemed more like a "public works project" than anything else. Short-term at best.

The rail companies would be out of business if not for transporting the oil. Just another case of a liberal administration picking winners and losers. Why not just admit the truth instead of citing environmental reasons?

OK, Dave, explain how putting the railroads out of business would help the economy? If they lose business, they lay off workers. Unemployment grows. Would this project employ more people than what would ultimately be laid off as a result of it? If that's what you are claiming, it's not very logical of you. I expect more from you, Dave.

Where did I say that putting the railroads out of business was good for the economy? Is reading a struggle? I expect more from you whoever you are.
