Indiana wins national championship with 25 and 26 year old athletes. Kentucky toots nose up and keeps living by 2010 rules. We would never follow legal rules that used to be illegal ten years ago.

Good on ya Indiana. Bama. Yall like to win.

the big stiff at Baylor and Bediako are in no way related to Covid or any Covid windows. KW is absolutely eligible to play if those two are.
They are younger and not yet 5 years removed from HS.
KW and EJ are well outside that window and both left college before the covid year so it wouldn't apply to them .

5 to play four went out the window when the NCAA decided that JuCo years didn't count. Courts would smack it down like all their other arbitrary rules.
If I turn on my tv and see Kentucky is playing against former g league players that are close to 30….. and we haven’t tried to get any. I’m not gonna cry when they dog walk us.

Right. He’s just now in his prime. Nothing like a senior in high school dominating eighth graders. Sign him up. What does him being 26 have to do with anything?
If Beddiako had been older his restaining order would have been denied and his eligibility will probably end up being denied at an NCAA hearing because this is the last year he can be eligible.
The NCAA has already denied eligibility to players outside the five year removed from HS criteria.

I believe you. But all I’m seeing in football and basketball is players being denied at first just to then appeal the decision or sue. They seem to all be getting approved in the end.

That may not be true but it sure seems like you fight the NCAA a little bit and they fold. Expect UK to keep falling back because we have leadership that is reactive. They don’t make things happen. Every year we get five years behind other programs it seems. Just get with the times is all I ask.

We're not talking extending eligibility of a player already enrolled.
We're talking about a player coming back to college that has played some level of professional basketball.
Guys like EJ can't fall back on an injury year or the covid year.
As far as I know there is no presedent for players outside the five year window to join an NCAA team whether they be American or European.
Jelly would not be eligible if he was 26.

I hear what you're saying but players are losing in court.
Zakhi Zeigler is an example.

I like the effort shown by him and Tennessee. He got denied. He tried. Thank gosh he did because we don’t come back the other day if he’s playing. But they can say they tried. Probably aren’t done trying honestly.

We really need a point guard. Pope needs to ok it with the team and they go find one together that the team agrees on then the whole state of Kentucky gets behind that then we get a crooked Lexington judge to handle business. Easy work lol.

Baylor kid is only 21. Bediako was a freshman at Bama the same year Bryce Hopkins was a freshman here. Hopkins plays at St John’s. This was the last year Bediako could come back.

I checked our rosters over the last 5 years and we don’t have any who could come back and we’d actually want other than Jordan Burks. Truthfully I wanted Burks to stay to begin with. He’s turned into the player I thought he would and would be a perfect stretch 4 in Pope’s system. Could even play the 3. I doubt it happens but I hope Pope looks at him for next year if he goes in the portal again.
