To honest getting tired of the updates but there is a brotherhood among us that does up lift me with your replies and I need them. I can't remember if I told you guys this or not. A while back the original tube started to leak urine. Ithe was awful. I was changing clothes a couple of times a day and Debbie my wife was changing the dressing a couple of times a day before we could have it replaced. The second tube was better and we were showed an easier way to change the dressing. Anyway I went last Monday to discuss surgery with my doctor. He took a look at the x rays and told me that the second pcn tube was wrong and he could not seen what he had to see to-do the surgery. It's complicated to discuss and the post is getting too long so today they put in right tube. Now I have to wait 2 1/2 months, get another x ray and then surgery will be discussed. This kidney issue has been going on since Oct. 2018 and I'm just tired. I appreciate those who this whole post and those who dont. There are regular posters on this board health issues are more serious than mine so I have no right to complain and hope I'm not coming across that way. I do still ask those who believe in prayer to continue to do so for all of us and if you don't pray just wishing us well is enough. OFC

Maybe Duke can make this an even sweeter comeback over the next year, @skysdad . You're going to clear this and it will be just a memory soon. Hang in there.

I hope it all works out sooner rather than later. I'll keep you in my prayers and I would say to try to be patient, but the Good Lord knows I rarely am. All the best and keep us updated.

Sorry to hear buddy. I recently was hospitalized for what I thought was appendicitis but ended up being renal infarction from a blood clot (likely from flying so much). While my function is still good, my blood pressure is suddenly spiked and I’m on blood thinners and blood pressure meds for 6 months. It’s been a challenge and I’m trying to get back to form. Praying for you.

I know this has been tough on you, Sky. The 'waiting' game gets old after awhile, and just frustrates a person. Hopefully, you can finally get this problem resolved after this wait. You and Debbie are always in my prayers. And I know you've got a real jewel in Debbie to help take care of you. She showed how special she was during all those years of taking care of her mother. It's not easy, and everyone can't do it. God bless.

An incredible man once said “Don’t give up, don’t ever give up” and I most certainly hope you heed his words. You are the one typically raising up your Duke family members; it’s just our turn to be there for you. Prayers have been sent and will continue until you win this battle.

Hang in there . We all have to have a place to vent these things. I am glad you have your board to do it. I have been on dialysis since November and the transplant list for 2+yrs now. Keep the faith and keep fighting. When you get overwhelmed lean on your friends family and faith. Continued prayers for you

The transplant call can come at any moment. My dad was on a lung transplant list. We went to see his team of doctors one day and they said he has probably another 6 months of waiting. That night, around midnight or so, the call came. That was 3 years ago. It can happen in an instant.

Get well sky! I'm 38 yrs old, live in Raleigh and 6 years ago was diagnosed with Membranous Nephropathy. It's been a long and mentally/physically exhausting haul, and I've been extremely fortunate along the way...but keep your head up and keep attacking it! We're with you!

Thank you so much dirt. You always say something that up lifts me. You all do for that matter. One thing that the threads have brought out is its brought to light so many of that have health issues that are more serious than mine. I also know that health issues are a private thing to some and I sure respect that. dirt is just amaking person. He like a lot of us has his challenges yet he is the 1st to show support to all. I have never met him but he has become a great and valued friend of mine. I hope he isn't taken back by all this but I had to give him his due. Forgive me dirt. This board is so amazing. We kind of joke about it being a brotherhood but it really is. I know that we don't all jive with one another. We have that ignore button which I have used but no more unless it's a troll. At one time there was a regular that we just didn't reply to each other. I can't even remember what was said that caused us to stop but I had always loved his post and 90 per cent of the time agreed with him and still do because he makes sense. Anyway we're replying again and I love that. I know that I'm not everyone's cup of tea but I would like to be on a cordial level with him. It's been a tough 6 months with this kidney issue and this board has made it easier. My face book friends have also been supportive and I realize how important frI ends are. One thing I would like to point out is that the last thing you say to someone may be the last thing you say to them. Same goes with our post. Don't regret words spoken or written that can hurt. Thanks. Hope all goes well with the pacemaker .Your name is so familiar. Glad to seen another Duke fan posting. I bet we've crossed paths. Jordan Sellars produced so many great athletes . I knew Jerome Evans. What a fine man he was. I still have the book "Black Coach." I ask him once about the accuracy of the book and he gave me that sly grin of his and said just about everything is exaggerated. I used to play softball with Smith Tractor and Atwater Ford back in the day. Our biggest rival was Joe's Shopwell and had some great times. Do you know any of their players like Gayland Brown? How about Eddie " Skull " Matthews and Artis Stanfield? By the way you qualify for the OFC or old farts club which means if you are older than 55 and was pre Coach K Duke fan you are in. Just post OFC at the end of your post in you choose to do so. Western Alamance class of 1970. OFC

Remember all the names in your last post.. Gayland Brown and Eddie Matthews coach me in little league football. Artis and I played on the same HS football he was QB and I played offensive guard. my name might sound familiar because my son name is Lacy Jr Played running back for Cummings HS.I am quite sure our paths has crossed. I also remember the battles between Atwater Ford and Smith Tractor and Joe Shopwell. continue to get well, prayers are still being sent up for you.
