Kiffin apparently made an 11th hour run at Duckworth

Seems he's still expected to sign with us today, though. For those looking for a positive sign, I guess it's this: We were able to keep a QB that Kiffin wanted.

Not sure I'm believing this....
As with most college football news regarding recruiting, NIL, etc it has to be taken with a grain of salt. Nothing is ever fully confirmed or denied.

But it is known that Kiffin recruited him to Ole Miss and that LSU was heavily in the mix, so it's hardly unbelievable.

Per his mom, he is coming here on a 2-year NIL deal.

She also said if he was chasing money, he'd be going somewhere else. That's an admirable thing but maybe sheds a little light on our NIL funding.

And this is part of what's stupid with NIL. A 2yr-deal.....? Duckworth won't even see the field here in his first 2 years. Year 1 will be a RS year, and year 2, he'll still (in all likelihood) be behind Cutter or some transfer we will have brought in. Tossing money to the wind, just like whatever we've given Noland. BUT, I get it; it's the game you have to play. Like I said, NIL is stupid.

Probably trying another "pumping gas" sway. Didn't work with Alshon obviously.

That's literally not true lol.. mostly 4 star and 1 5 star. If fans on this board are going to consistently piss and moan about everything, at least be accruate.
I stand corrected then. I read on another Carolina board. I was referring to guys we're expecting to sign later apparently. Hopefully they're coached up to their ability.

Listening to Bradford on YouTube. Insider was reaching out to LSU contacts. Not confirmed but apparently has legs

This tells you all you need to know about our program. We've been giving this kid the full court press for well over a year. Kiffin flipped him in 72 hours.
The fans aren’t buying what Beamer is selling. Why would a recruit?

Yes, that's nice to hear, but not exactly the best advertisement for us. :ROFLMAO: But, hopefully, there are other quality players out there with similar priorities.

Beamer has had time to nail down an OC. The unknown will likely impact his decision, if he does flip to LSU. Beamer is his own worst enemy.

Can someone please explain to me how this myth that Beamer is a great recruiter developed. Was there any evidence at all that he was? Someone here said his recruiting when he was here was off the charts. I did not see that. In the two years he was recruiting coordinator here, our rankings were 11th ( that's good) and 51st (not good). It does not add up. If he came here (I'm not saying he did) with the reputation of being a great recruiter, then he has been a fraud.

I don't know specific recruits he landed when he was here previously, but he was recruiting for Spurrier, which is some important context to his previous recruiting prowess.

NIL has changed a lot of the metrics on who is and isn't a good recruiter.

He was recruiting coordinator when Spurrier was here for a time.

Kids wanting to play for one of the greatest coaches of all time was supposed to be all due to Shane's recruitment.

In reality, it was something we told ourselves to make ourselves feel better when the joke of hiring a position coach as our next head coach shifted to a real possibility.

We added "Dabo did it" and "he really wants to be here" to ice the cake.

The difference is we had a head coach then that any SEC school would been glad to have. Now. Not so much. Not one would take beaner as head coach

And I said that at the time many here were pushing Beamer due to his purported recruiting prowess.

We started Beamer at $4 million/year, about 10x what Oklahoma was paying him at the time. Offer anybody, just about any job, 10x their current salary, they would crawl to the job. And they might even crawl without a stitch of clothing on to get it.
"Dream job". "Greatest university". "Most amazing administration." Pay me 10x and I'll be singing superlatives too.

Beamer was here 2007-2010.
2007 composite #6.
2008 composite #22.
Beamer was instrumental in landing many of those guys and was hence made recruiting coordinator in 2009.
2009 was composite low teens; 12ish.
2010 was composite low 20s; 23ish.

If you say 2010 was trending down, 2010 was Marcus Lattimore, Connor Shaw, Ace Sanders, Victor Hampton, and AJ Cann.

You can look up the rest yourself.
