I’d say he’s right. Two weeks ago, we watched Stoops punt it at midfield in the same exact position and we lost.
He’s not wrong. We should push the ball way more, BVG throws a really nice deep ball. He’s got the arm and finally Stoops grew a pair and took a chance and we won. We won’t take the next step as a program trying to win every game 20-17 every game. It’s just not possible in this day and age of explosive offense.
JMHO , there wasn’t much “ balls “ in this decision , it wasn’t the same as the Ga game . We had a chance to pin Ga very very deep - we had no field position in this one - the way we punt ole miss gets the ball back in great field position- we weee in a spot where we had to go for it . It didn’t take any balls from Stoops . It took guts for BG to go deep and BB to make the play .. better question is why were we just getting BB the ball ?
When the ball was thrown I was screaming omg this is the play on 4th and 7 I guess that’s why I coach from my recliner.
