This is the only classification that it will not be 2 top 5 seeds. There are currently 8, 1 seeds with 2 more left to play out of 16. Works pretty dang good. If Shelby doesn’t lose to lincolnton the first time they are top 5 and if Kinston doesn’t lose those early games they are top 5 as well. It’s the best system.

simple mistake.Shelby vs Copper will be fun to watch. Young man put up crazy stats this year.
Shelby will be a solid favorite but right now Kinston is the hottest team on the planet based on metrics.
Two QBs with close to 8000 passing yards combined is just crazy.
Just went through every Shelby box score. What the heck kinda super juice do they take in the second quarter? Seems like they just bust games wide open in the second…

Throw out the "pre-season" games ... these two teams are playing their best when it counts.
Will be interesting to see if Kinston can give their QB time to throw it with his feet set. They better block that D-line better than we did last night. Shelby was constantly in our QB’s face.
I will say, this will be the toughest matchup for Kinston all year including Tarboro. I think this will be a great matchup because the strength of this Kinston defense is in the secondary, and as we know both teams love to air it out. I will say, I believe this Shelby pass rush will be the toughest test Kinston has seen all year, but we saw their physicality on the interior like we've never seen them before against James Kenan last week. As far as predictions, I will never pick against my guys, but this is the toughest test Kinston will see all year. This is a rematch 10 years in the making, and I remember vividly the heartbreak watching Shelby lift that trophy in 2015. Many of the Kinston coaching staff still remains and that burns deep in their core. They will be out for revenge, they will be ready, and I think this game will be a classic. Take the over on points.

My bad tbh I can’t make any fair comparison I only know about the East but I have seen the other teams you mentioned and James Kenan beats Pasqoutank by easily

Team that can rush the ball the best will win. Or team that produces most turnovers. Or both.
Kinston's running back is probably their third best player. My comment was not to say either team could not run the ball, neither of them would be here if they could not. But let's be real, this is going to be a shootout, not East Duplin vs Wallace.

I take all east side stats with a grain of salt. The players/teams they feel are world beaters dont really get tested much till end of November if at all, UNLESS the few of them schedule a team out of state which they rarely do.
Northeastern, Ayden Grifton, 5A white oak, Greene Central, 7A South Central, Midway are the spread teams they faced.
General question, so is it natural for the West to look down on East teams since they dominated in the state finals recently?
General answer, Yes sir pretty much, sad to say...
Sad fact is, occasionally an Eastern team will win a title (Not counting Tarboro they are amazing) but most years they come in like Kinston did in 2015 15-0 and get a 57 spot put on them.. It was so bad some dude in the paper down there even dogged Kinston and I took up for them in the comments,. He was a douche... Anyway occasionally an eastern team finds a nut, I just hope it aint this year in 3a ha ha.. If so Ill quote this and tell how wrong I was...

That’s the great thing about the playoffs—we’ll finally get a real answer.
I think most of us tend to favor our own conference and the teams we follow closely. It’s natural; it’s what we see every week, and it feels good when they win and some of us like that validation of our losses as well.
To be honest, there’s really no way to know for sure until the games are played. Even if one team clearly beats another, it’s still just one game on one particular day. A single result like that doesn’t necessarily tell us how all the other teams across the state would match up.
The playoffs will give us the clearest picture we’re going to get.
