Kirby- please stop with the “we were disrespected” and “ everybody doubted us” and “chip on the shoulder” crap. So tired of those worn out lines.
Nobody disrespected Georgia this year and they were playoff ranked from the jump.
Give those a rest. You have a great team.

Would Be nice to have the Head Coaches of our major programs that have that philosophy!

I upset my wife the UGA fan when I observed that these statements were absurd. What happened? Someone denied UGA invented the game? That kind of disrespect?

Any questioning of Georgia was tied to the fact that they had a soft schedule, nearly lost to Missouri, and were able to avoid their nemesis, Alabama.

The win over OSU was big because OSU was clearly one of the best teams in the nation and had a month to prepare.

The domination of TCU was a statement: We are the best. Period.

It really left no questions. Even if you believed Bama would have been a deserving #4 (and I did), you can’t really question UGA after that utter destruction of TCU.

And frankly, that benefits the SEC, because people will remember what happened that time they let the Big XII runner-up into the CFP.

This won't happen going forward but we just need to reconsider why we let TCU, Cincy wasn't very competitive last year, Oklahoma has been competitive one time (the Baker Mayfield vs. UGA in Rose Bowl) and blown out rest of time, Washington got in from Pac 10 and got ran. Notre Dame gets n and isn't competitive

To be honest Ohio St usually is competitive, Clemson is almost always competitive and when 2 SEC teams gets in..they are competitive. I know each year is a new team but these invites are just a waste of time. Anyone with a brain can see a 0-1 loss BIg 12, PAC 10, etc...are not really that close to 1-2 loss SEC teams.

The team that should have gotten the 4 spot is Tennessee (and I'm not a big fan of orange). But Tennessee played a somewht competitive game at UGA and had the offense to give a shot to score with UGA. And losing Hooker last game of year should not eliminate them IMO

I think they were actually disrespected to a degree. They don't get the bama media treatment and people constantly nitpick stetson Bennett because he isn't a top NFL prospect. No one really respected how dominant they really were.

I really enjoy watching them play. Talented but disciplined and without gimmicks. Bad news is both their coordinators look older and their names are never mentioned for any openings. So they might be at the top for awhile.

The SC loss is what did UT in ultimately.

Otherwise, yes, I agree with your sentiments.

I agree USC loss was bad on Tenn...but why would LSU loss be any better for Bama...which is the prevailig opinion.

LSU won the West, and only beat Alabama by 1.

SC went 4-4 in conference and beat UT by 25.

Not really the best set of games to compare.

I thought UT was very good, but that blowout loss, combined with the Hooker injury was the death knell.

And Tennessee beat Bama head to head and had 2 SEC losses just like Bama....

1. I get Tennessee was at home vs. Bama
2. USC beat Clemson....so they were hot as a fire cracker at the end
3. Tennessee other loss was at UGA...who was by far the best SEC team (and national).

I've always thought in cases of ties on win/loss records the tie breaker is head to head if they played each other. Just feels like people find any way possible to get Bama in playoffs.

I thought the 3 best teams, when healthy, were UGA, UT and Alabama.

The way that SC game fell apart, combined with Hooker’s injury, just knocked UT back.

It is what it is.

Kirby Smart motto is:
Collect as much four and five-star talent as possible so they don't know whether I can coach or not.

$100 says if he goes to the NFL he's like every other college coach ...he ain't **** without that talent Gap.

Georgia and Alabama can kiss my ***. Your coaches ain't proved a Got damn thing in my eyes other than they can recruit. We already know Nick Saban ain't **** he showed that in the NFL. Come on Kirby take a step up let's see what you really are..

With even talent and the exact same offensive coordinator for all 3.........I'll take Mark Stoops over Nick Saban and Kirby Smart.

I bet you Stoops would be a good NFL defensive coordinator. Really good.
