Spot on. How the hell does a player KICK THE BALL out of frustration, and not get T'd up? At one point I noticed the huge difference in how Iowa State's coach works the sideline, and how Pope just walked toward his bench, seemingly not even engaged in the action.

I'm not defending Pope, he needs to go..but the reason this game turned into a blowout is because our guys, particularly Oweh and Aberdeen, couldn't play any sort of aggressive defense with four and three fouls with 15 minutes to go. Were they legitimate fouls ? I don't know. Pope is still a God awful Coach and we likely would have lost regardless but the officiating was very one sided today.

Refs are like cops. They protect their own no matter what.

Refs didn’t snitch on Donaghy. You know they knew something was off.

UK isn’t getting the calls for a long time. Maybe 2032. That will be 15 years after fans went after Higgins.

Can't say for sure whether we'd have won, but it definitely kept us from finding out. Killed our momentum early and when we'd put baskets together consecutively. Clearly called one way for them and a different way for us.

I would love to have seen what this team could have done this season if they had a fair whistle gor every game.

I love how he is so well regarded! At the crooks are always high in stature and well regarded. I think they should have a public review of every call the make after every game and have to answer questions to the media. Let’s really have some gambling oversight.

Lmao THIS! I got a wild breakdown off Google AI. Said he was well regarded and one of the best refs in the country. Said that he was the protege of another excellent ref in John Higgins! You can’t make this up. Almost like a certain political party with all the propaganda. I threw up a little in my mouth!

They’re basically like independent contractors, college referees are! Therefore, there’s zero oversight! It’s gross! They’ve absolutely ruined the sport I love most! They’ve damn sure ruined it for UK fans. Even my wife sees it now! That’s saying something! 😡

We weren’t going to win either way with popes incompetence but baldy definitely took over the game during the latter part of the first half into the second. He tried calling goal tending when the ball hit off the front of the rim forcing us to challenge. I would have undressed that MF in front of the whole arena. Pope just squinted at him.

Not saying that the officials made any difference in the outcome but when the Iowa State player kicked the ball and didn’t get a T you could see which way this game was going to be called.

Exactly when.

I asked several media people about that non-call and they wouldn't answer the question on air. Bunch of weak af politicians in the media
