I've got a 12" Lodge CI skillet like you posted earlier, too.

.
Lodge skillets are comparatively cheap. $14 or so at Walmart in KY.

One key distinction about Lodge is you are 100% certain their seasoned cast iron products are not manufactured from melted-down engine blocks or cylinder heads. While Lodge seasoned cast iron and carbon steel products are made in USA, their enameled cast iron products are made in China. Important difference.

For flatware, seriously consider Liberty Tabletop, the sole remaining flatware line manufactured in the USA. Sherrill Manufacturing facility in New York, formerly part of Oneida, but staved off closure when two employees purchased the plant. Sherrill supplies the US military with flatware. Expensive? Sure. 20-piece sets start at $69.95 vs $11 for Chinese crap sold by Walmart and Target. I recently purchased a 20-piece set with satin finish. Great quality.

Also TJ Maxx is a great place to get pots and pans. They always have some good stuff at more than 1/2 what it would cost at BBB, Wiliams Sonoma, or Macy's.

Can't stress looking at TJ Maxx enough. I bought a nice dutch oven there once for about $30. If you live in Florida, check out a Beall's outlet too.

I will certainly check out TJ Maxx

What are some entry level brands that I should look for when buying things like pots, pans, tools, etc? I can’t afford rolling into Williams Sonoma dropping bills, but I don’t want junk either. I want items that will help me figure this out.
