I share the excitement over the great recruits we were able to convince to come to Lincoln last week. But we need to temper that excitement with reality. These recruits have many options and most of them want more out of a program than game day experience. I would be THRILLED if we got two of those guys. Even one.
But I don't want the Riley boo birds judging him if we don't get any of those recruits. We have the makings of a good class. We can finish strong if we have a decent season and build for the future.
I am tired of the coaching carousel. I hope the fans are patient and give Riley time.
The slogan "but this is Nebraska damn it!" is commendable in many ways. It shows high expectations are still here. Good. I would be more worried when people stop caring. But we are not the Nebraska of old. And to get back to where we were will take time.
