Nope, he's not back yet. But the kid will make it back. My guess, that's just his motivation to keep head up, keep working hard, and keep eyes on the ball. He wants to be back on that practice field with his brotha's and kickin ***.

He had a MAJOR medical issue that frankly I was surprised that he was able to recover enough from to even suit up for the spring scrimmage. I don't how many clowns on this board have ever gone through what he went through but I suspect not many. Lots of kids withdraw from school with something like he had let alone make it back to practice. Yeah he screwed off some and probably didn't do well as well in his classes as he should have but I expect him back in Lincoln for next spring.

This +1000
I had an emergency appendectomy two years ago that was followed by abdominal sepsis that was resistant to antibiotics. It required tubes, suction drainage, and painful internal disinfection via syringe. That lasted a month. I lost 25 pounds, had a constant low grade fever, and lost so much muscle integrity in my abdomen that I developed three hernias that required further surgery.

Yes, yes, I am a lot older than this kid, but come on people. He had serious complications from his appendectomy and the young man obviously rushed his arrival here because he wanted to be a Husker so badly. He is young and immature and made mistakes.

I hope he comes back soon and kicks some ***.

My wife had this a couple of years ago. Emergency and all that. One night in the hospital and she was good in a couple of days. And she aint no teenager. So mileage will vary.

As rrt noted above, KJJ had complications, as did I. Thanks be to God your wife didn't, because I can attest to just how awful post appendectomy complications can be.

A boy on my kids XC team suffered from a ruptured appendix and didn't round back into good running form for at least a year.
