POTENTIAL That HOW I WOULD describe THIS year TEAM. The BIG SOUTH will be very COMPETITIVE this year with ASHBROOK, CREST, SOUTH POINT, HUNTER HUSS all having very good TEAMS.

I agree. The potential of this Mountaineer group is high. If this group gets on a roll and build some confidence early, it’s going to be fun to watch.
What I dont understand is how this team is supposed to be better than last years(several different opinions), winning a share of the conference but people are looking at KM finishing 4th in the conference and on some sites, not even ranked in these preseason 6a rankings, not that it really matter.
I think offensively they are going to catch a lot of teams off guard with what they have and light the scoreboard up. Did they announce offensive coordinator yet? I expect the defense to be really good again.
Haven't seen anything on here, but KM had a incoming freshman, multi-sport star (football,basketball,wrestling) that moved into the district from gaston county, and was going to have a bright future, have a major set back when he and several other young kids were shot while standing outside in Gastonia on the 4th of July. I've been praying for a complete healing for the young man.
Most of those guys giving opinions on some of these sports pages are completely clueless or have ulterior motives. Many of those guys are buddies and hype up their friends’ teams, players, and coaches.
I like this KM group, young talent mixed with some veteran talent. I definitely think we are going to surprise some people with what we have.
This 100%!!! Those pages just use last years record, and graduations as their basis. They don’t have a clue what’s going on! My team is not being mentioned at all even though we have lost 2 games in the last two season and made it deep into the playoffs. Yes they are young but we will see quick as they scheduled a brutal non conference!
But common sense or any football knowledge, knows taking a soph. Qb that's never played a down of football on varsity, going struggle for 1st 6-7 games.

An experienced qb is great of course but what you and others are missing or don’t know is that the qb has so much high level talent around him on offense that he doesn’t have to win games by himself. He only needs to manage the game for this team and make the big throw when needed. He is more than capable of doing that. He doesn’t need to win the game yet. The kid is 6’4, athletic, and throws darts. It’s a reason GW head coach offered and a ton of other D1 teams like him a lot and are waiting on his varsity film. Crest and Kings Mtn are the only two teams in Cleveland and Gaston that has qbs with D1 offers. There is a reason for that. He is super competitive so I worry more about our young qb keeping his emotions in check this early in his career.
Last year KM returned only 3 kids on each side of the ball who had even started a varsity game. This year even with the losses they return double digit varsity starters and added a really talented jv group to that mix. KM is flying under the radar at the moment but this team is going to be a problem as the young guys get game experience.
I fully expect SP to move Blee to running back and put the kid who led Belmont middle to back to back county titles at qb.
They have a 200lb transfer FB. Blee isn't moving from behind center. I'll eat crow if it happens.
Now that you have a running back there isn’t a need to make that move. He is a good back too. Runs hard with good speed.
