Knapper Sidelined Today

WACO, Texas (February 23, 2019) – West Virginia University men’s basketball freshman guard Brandon Knapper will miss today’s game at Baylor due to a neck sprain. His status is day-to-day.

What the hell Routte? Knapper needed the work, reps. Hope it’s only 1 game. How unlucky is that? Without Knapper, Beetle and Konate this will be a sad show today. Huggs better get his head out of his *** and make David Early a top priority. Jalen Bridges and Obinna Killen as well.

Knapper is getting better and needs the continued reps. He’s cut down the turnovers and can score double figures in Big 12 games. McCabe usually plays bad defense and scores 0 points. Knapper has beat him out. Knapper will only get better just needed minutes and confidence. Health issues last year with knee and blood clot made him rusty. He’s starting to improve and step up. He’s going to be good here. 3 more years left.

If McCabe went out there and shot 12 times, I'm going to say he stands a great chance of scoring 10 points. That's how "great" Knapper has been.

NoPride and his attention getting comments continue to make him sound like a clown. What's the big deal NoPride with the Mountaineers playing without "Cannot Shoot" at guard? After all this team is loaded and is Final Four bound!

Knapper would have 20 points if he played today. He’s getting more comfortable and confident and played ok last game. Horton looked good on defense when he played in 1st half. McCabe stated his case to be worthy of a roster spot next year. These 3 are coming back. McCabe finally gets a double figure game. Huggs will bring all these guys back.

Doomes is gone. Horton beat him out. Horton will play big minutes next year. He’s going to be good. He owns these guys in practices and scrimmages. Most of roster comes back and they will bank on the guys getting older, stronger, better.

If Knapper plays today we win by double figures and Knapper would have 20-25 points against this bad defense Baylor team. Knapper torched Baylor for 15 in second half alone vs Baylor in Morgantown a few weeks back.

McCabe finally had a positive performance with 14 points. Doomes is the one to go. Doomes scored a easy basket late in game but looks like a D2 player. Doomes will get forced out. Horton easily beat him out and always will.

Horton needs to play over Harler. This is a crime that Huggs played Harler and Haley over Taevon Horton. Horton will play major minutes next year.

I think Huggs should sit Beetle rest of year and let Knapper, Horton and McCabe get all the minutes, reps to continue growing.

F**K YOU! Horton played in the first half. Lost and non-athletic.

And McCabe is 10x better than Knapper. Proved it today.

Mountaineer WV Horton unathletic? He’s probably the best pure athlete on team. He can really run and jump. Horton will play next year. Huggs screwed that up this year. Harler should not be playing over Horton.

Did you forget that Knapper already has 3-4 double figure scoring games vs Big 12 teams already. Knapper lead us with 25 points in our last win vs Oklahoma. We needed him today. McCabe played his best game with career high 14 points. Both are coming back. Auditioning continues.

Knapper can play both and defend. He’s going to be very valuable for years and will only get better. We win today with Knapper. McCabe played his best game finally but Knapper had 4 double figure games already in Big 12 games including leading us with 25 points vs Oklahoma and leading WVU to victory. McCabe can’t do that.

Also if Knapper plays today you see probably less Harler. Either way we win with Knapper today. Baylor soft defense and zone would have resulted in Knapper getting hot and scoring a lot.

Either way Knapper, McCabe and Horton are coming back. We win if Knapper plays today. Knapper carried us on his back the last time we won a game back vs Oklahoma. Knapper lead us with 25 points and a victory. Knapper is best guard we got. He can defend also.

C’mon he’s a way better defender than our other guards. Horton is only other that defends. Huggs just doesn’t play him enough. Horton will end being better than most of these guys next year. He is better now but Huggs screwed him this year because they invested big scholarships in other guards. Horton should have played major minutes all November and December.

If Knapper got to play yesterday with no Beetle and no McCabe and he didn’t have to look over his shoulder he would have scored 25 points or more against that soft zone defense. Baylor defense was horrible. If Knapper plays we win by double figures.

Well it’s true. He torched Baylor last month in Morgantown with 15 points in 2nd half alone and nearly carried us back. He torched Oklahoma in our last win with 25 points. He played solid vs Kansas State last game. He has cut down his turnovers too. Knapper is going to be very good here.

Knapper avg 2 turnovers a game and 1.5 assist. That's horrible.

McCabe avg 1 turnover a game and 1.6 assist.

Kannaper is a shooter
McCabe is a true PG. Don't need points from him just assist and no TO's (if he gets any points it's a plus)

Horton defends well. Watch the film Saturday. It was nice seeing a strong, athletic guard lock people up. Your obviously just trying to argue. Huggins should have played Horton from the jump in November.

McCabe needs to play well the next, last 4 games as well to show and prove himself. He’s only had 1 good game really against Baylor soft zone terrible defense where they dared him to shoot and he knocked down shots. Good for him and he needed that badly. He like Knapper both need to keep building confidence. McCabe had 14 points and 4 assists and now he needs to build off that. Knapper has scored double figures 4 times already against Big 12 competition. Knapper scores 25 points the last time we won. Knapper lead us to a victory and carried us that game. He has showed continued improvement slowly but surely. Knapper has cut down his turnovers too.

Knapper and McCabe both need experience and confidence. That’s the key. Huggins did a poor job all year with both. He should have played them heavier minutes all November and December. Knapper had to overcome knee surgery last year then a bad summer with a lung issue and blood clot that further sidelined him. He’s just getting back his timing and finding that groove. He’s going to be good and it takes a guard more time to get that timing, rhythm back after sitting out with all those health issues. Give the kid a break. He’s stepped up the last month and showing good potential.

Auditions continue the final 4 games. Knapper already has won starting job and will continue improving with experience and minutes. McCabe needs to play well more than 1 game. Knapper has already had several good to solid games. If Knapper played against that soft zone of Baylor he would have had 25 points.

Double figures for Knapper in 4 out of 14 big 12 games? Not exactly a sterling resume. But....if if if.
