WATE TV reports Knoxville police called coach bj during a rape investigation against 2 football players. Of course "no investigations were compromised or improper information provided,” according to Knoxville police dept. However, courtesy notifications to saint ut administrators will cease. no investigations were compromised or improper information provided. ”Assistant District Attorney General Sean McDermott said disclosure of “sensitive information” that doesn’t advance the investigation before arrests are made “potentially could violate state law regarding the misuse of official information.”
http://wate.com/2016/04/22/knoxville-police-to-stop-courtesy-notifications-to-ut-admins/
coach bj also made calls to Drae Bowles who stood up for the alleged rape victim
http://wate.com/2016/03/30/coach-bu...e-bowles-the-day-a-j-johnson-accused-of-rape/

Sure seems like the "good ole boy network at saint ut is alive and well no matter who coaches there". Wonder what this will do to the Title IX lawsuit where Drae Bowles is named? Saint ut tried so hard to get the lawsuit moved from Nashville to Knoxville. Wonder what the saint ut lurkers that spout saint ut rhetoric on this board have to say about this?

Come on guys, quit dreaming.

Don't you still have to be elected to be the DA?

Don't bet on it. Just this week the superstar 5* DT Alexis Johnson had sexual assault and false enprisonment charges dropped. Get this...he arrived on campus in Jan, the incident took place in Feb and through some miracle of good fortune he was able to secure the services of the top defense atty in the area who was able to work a deal with the DA, a UT grad.. This guy has a long history of getting malcontents off with little or no time. UT's thing is a "Return to the Glory Days." They're well on their way.

Let's face it, a lot of things stink to high heaven in Knoxville.

Very true jauk but the bottom line is...they don't care. Just win. Few days ago they put out a call for suggestions on a Neyland upgrade. No amount of paint in that ancient cathedral can remove the decades old stain of nicotine and the overpowering stench of urine. But I guess they're going to try. Return to the glory days.

The police calling the head coach is a long standing practice by the knoxville police department. If nothing else comes out of this, they announced a couple days ago that practice was going to be stopped and he would no longer be called. Those pesky cell phone records have shown Butch calling Johnson several times starting just after the call from the police about the charges being filed. Of course Butch was just making sure he had his research paper finished. Nothing is likely to come of it other than UT or boosters paying off the people filing the suit, but it has put a dark cloud over them. They have had lots of kids in trouble with the law who didn't face much punishment, hell even an armed robber was allowed to return to the team, I can't remember his name, a safety from Louisanna I think until his next run in with the law, which wasn't long and was finally dismissed.

I would really like to know how Greg Isaacs gets hired. Is he just taking on these cases to better his reputation, is the defendant paying him, or is there some other source of payment? It could even be a benefit, such as Isaacs getting better season tickets or getting skyboxes for free or some other perk. Not that this doesn't happen in a lot of college towns, but considering what is going on in Knoxville, this is even more under the microscope.

That was Jantzen, a five star DB, and the surveillance film was supposed to show that he was acting like a lookout, but five stars have different standards, look at how long DaRick lasted. He first fell out of grace a bit for a leading with the helmet or helmet to helmet foul which probably cost them a bowl win, Then he was sent home for a semester for "personal problems" , (wink wink, at the time I think TU had a limit of five bad tests before the axe fell, UK and Georgia two IIRC, our best player Caffey for one guilty and gone before he ever played a down) and sure enough made it back the next semester------but he didn't make it through the semester.

Actually Janzen Jackson, from Lake Charles LA, where I lived for eight years back in the 90s. Anyway, I think he has since charged for a murder down in Lake Charles, maybe accessory after the fact or something like that. I know a lot of LSU fans in LC were kind of butt hurt that he went to UT.

Yep. Junior and Lulu's lives won't have any meaning if their beloved Vols aren't winning.

Good catch, wanted to call him Jackson but Janzen was more catchy in my mind. Also heard something about him being charged with murder but no details.

I think I read where he killed his mom's boyfriend or husband and then drove around for about a week with him in his trunk. I'm not sure but I think that's the story I read.

Any father who lets his daughter attend UT aka Rape University, should have his head examined.
