Thats Rye48 with an RAfter reading some of these posts, it looks like it's time to add to the ignore list.
Some people wanna jump off a bridge over one de commit lol. Kobe smith is a loss but a lot of teams have a de commit or two. Its not uncommon. This Pringle kid the staff is after looks like a stud as well, hopefully we get him.
Here it comes. He doesn't have an offer from Georgia and likely won't get one - he's probably the 6th or 7th best DL in Georgia this year - granted its a great year for DL - but people thinking he was a day 1 starter or even a starter down the road were being pretty optimistic. He was about the 8th most recruited kid on his own HS team.
Here it comes.
Rumor is that UK and Kobe Smith was a mutual parting.
D.J. Eliot is making a late push for Rashan Gary.
Those fl. Guys alway seem to be better then there rating..
Ktime; I have to disagree that this class is falling back to that joker level...stoops has some very good talent coming in despite his collapse this year. Levitt, jackson, young, daniels, gilliam, jorden griffen,bonner,ect..a lot of really good athletes.I predicted Kobie Smith would be hardest kid to hold with the way UK finished...and this is a huge loss no matter how you want to spin it...This kid would have likely started by end of year and no worse than backup DT or Nose guard..whichever position UK wanted to slate him for. THis along with Miggins/Bell looking way over their heads. UK is going to line up Miggins/Elam/Meant as our DL...let that hot mess sink in for a second.
Also, the only thing holding this class from a complete hot mess that occurred last year is many of our top rated kids are from Ky. Young, Jackson, Kash, etc.. and Leavitt was a JUCO who signed papers to enroll in Jan...so his plans were pretty definite before the death spiral to end this year.
It's really the end for Stoops at UK. The talent level of these classes are falling toward Joker/Brooks level with these decommits. His only hope is too hit a big home run with Offensive Coordinator that can bring in a coach or two with him to get this side of ball on track. Similar to when Brooks was forced to rid himself of Ron Hudson/Paul Dunn and we get JOker to OC, Randy Sanders to QB coach and Jimmy Heggins to OL. Stoops has to find a great teacher of offense and that coach has to have an OL coach that can take Schlarman's spot (Schlarman has proven he can't get it done). If we don't hit a homerun with offensive staff this year...it's all but over for Stoops.
The Ky kids and Leavitt will keep it from falling back into the 50's. But I'm not holding my breath we stick some of the higher rated non KY kids when all is signed. Bonner will be a fight to the end as bigger schools have him on radar awaiting their higher rated DE kids. We'll see about Gilliam...not feeling great he's solid with UK.Ktime; I have to disagree that this class is falling back to that joker level...stoops has some very good talent coming in despite his collapse this year. Yeah no doubt. Every team in the country will be pushing for Gary. The question is it a realistic push.Rumor is that UK and Kobe Smith was a mutual parting.

I know....F***ing joke right...Do fans really believe UK and Smith mutually parted ways so that UK could better pursue Gary?

I assumed the post that mentioned Gary was just sarcastic... was anyone actually being serious about it?
Only an assumption could provide any answer to that question.

Exactly. I know Kobe's twitter doesn't have UK on it anymore but there was no formal decommitment which is extremely strange. This situation is as hard as Lelouch beating the Britannian Empire (like if you get the reference)Something just doesn't add up here.
- December 9th Smith sign financial aid papers with UK
- No reported offer by USCjr listed to date
- December 14th dead period starts (until January 13th)
- January 12th classes start at USCjr
- January 20th last day to add/ drop a class at USCjr
The more he attends the Bama Recruiting Soirees (also known as elite camps), the more likely he winds up at Bama.Michigan seems to be the front runner for Gary, his former coach is there and 2 of his former teammates are there, Peppers and I forget the other. Auburn, LSU, Bama are recruiting him, but most of their fans feel he is Michigan's to loose at this point. Muschamp was called a bold face liar by his mother, so I would have to think SC is out of it for Gary.
Now, ain't that something. One would think that 6'4", 295 lb DT that was going to walk into UK and start from day one (according to many on here) would be besieged with offers, wouldn't they?Something just doesn't add up here.

- If Smith was going to be hard to hold onto, we really never had him. It's similar to retaining possession all the way thru the catch when the ball is moving around in the hands.I predicted Kobie Smith would be hardest kid to hold with the way UK finished...and this is a huge loss no matter how you want to spin it...This kid would have likely started by end of year and no worse than backup DT or Nose guard..whichever position UK wanted to slate him for. Maybe Kobie Smith was a soft commit to UK for the get and was waiting for bigger/better offers. But given how last year and this year....if UK were to at least go to a bowl game with 6 wins...I'd think our argument that UK is on the rise (especially vs. USC) would hold more water and less likely to see kids move on.- If Smith was going to be hard to hold onto, we really never had him. It's similar to retaining possession all the way thru the catch when the ball is moving around in the hands.
- If he's injured, it's not a huge loss.
- You say "decommitS". Who besides Smith?
- If you fall any at all, it has to be towards Joker, now doesn't it?
- Schlarman has proven no such thing.
Which bowl is USC playing in?Maybe Kobie Smith was a soft commit to UK for the get and was waiting for bigger/better offers. Kobie Smith is needed for his last 2-3 years...not his first year at UK. We need huge kids that can play 2 gaps on DL at UK. It''s no different than Snowbridge/Fullwood not sticking with UK and we replaced them with Josh Allen/Miggins...UK isn't likely to get better kids than Smith to produce at DT.
