I’d have more respect for guys like this if they just posted the truth. I’m getting paid and took the $. Be it guys coming or going from here. At 22 lot of us would’ve done the same but Spare us the rest, it’s so cliche anymore. Forever a Hawkeye, except if you offer me a couple hundred grand more than Iowa would give me…

After having time to reflect on Koen leaving, I want to thank him for his time at Iowa. His blitz tackle on the Penn State QB to hold them to a field goal was memorable. Hoping Brown and Hawkins can fill the void left by Koen and X. Time to look to the furure. Go Hawks!

I have not read all the responses to this Louisville commit news, but if it’s not about $$ I don’t get it. It’s like going backwards.

Twitter likes to make up nonsense for the sake of clicks. Until a major news outlet or one of the Iowa beat writers confirms it, I'm not buying it.
I'm with you on believing this, but it certainly makes more sense than leaving for a bag from....Louisville. Unless Louisville suddenly picked up a sugar daddy to fund all their NIL after the success Indiana had.

What a terribly dumb decision. He might, might make more money next year but if he spoke with Bob Sanders, Micah Hyde, Desmond King, Amani, Geno and others they would have told him what a dumb decision he's making.

I'm still just so frustrated he decided to do this. He seemed pretty loyal to the program and I was so thankful when he said he was coming back.

I was listening to the radio tonight between coaching responsibilities for Ben McCollum's weekly show. Someone asked what he would do if a player wanted to come back after testing the portal. He said something to the effect of the second that player has decided they are entering the portal, we are already recruiting someone else and your spot is gone. If you go somewhere for a year and get back into the portal he would maybe consider it.

Dolph said that Kirk must have made a similar comment recently. Why it all matters is that I was hoping some way, some how that KE would be back. We need a guy who can actually tackle.
The guy we got from JMU is better.

Not at all, that 20 mil is the rev share that schools split up between sports, Iowa probably uses about 15-17 mil for football and the other sports get a few slivers of what's left. Anything beyond is collective based and in TT's case the oil barons are funding another 10-20 million for a total of 30-40 million range for TT's, Indiana's of the world.
This! This is why it's important to give to SWARM!

Agreed, but it's unlikely you'd see it reported like that.

Maybe for your average millionaire billionaire it is. But for the average fan, who are already pays High ticket prices, high concession prices, High parking prices, I feel I'm already doing my part in supporting the team. I'm not going to give even MORE just to get some unproven 18 yr old kid here, make him rich, before I can even watch him. Sorry, you are asking the fans, again, to foot the bill for the school and league, so they can make even more $$. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
