All things considered I’m not sure Franklin could have done better (on paper); also a good sign that PSU is willing to pay big boy money for staff. May or may not work out, but it’s a big swing. Have heard AK’s personality is better fit than MY, so that’s a plus.

I hope we are moving on up like George and Weezy to a deluxe seeding in the CFP.......
It's a much-needed move for Franklin, whose offense has only twice been in the top-25 in yards-per-play in Franklin's 10 seasons in Happy Valley.
Moreover, the Nittany Lions' offense has been 81st or lower in three of the last four years, including 2023.
In 2021, Kansas finished No 104 in yards per play. Last year, in Kotelnicki’s second season, the Jayhawks improved to No. 6 and played in a bowl game for the first time since 2008. This year, despite injury problems that included losing star QB Jalon Daniels for much of the season due to a back injury, the Jayhawks still ranked No. 8 in the nation, averaging 7.01 yards per play.

My post had zeeo to do with Allar having a big arm. It had everything to do with trusting our Coaching Staff over the good folks on this message board, no offense. CJF and the staff have shown us and made it pretty clear that Allar is the best QB on the team. This is the basis for my post.
And if the coaching staff decides to make a change at QB? It's not as if that's never been done before. Or do you discontinue trusting them?

Franklin hired Kotelnicki before the transfer portal opens and the December signing day. Stability move. Kotelnicki therefore should be in place to get acquainted with the team and aid in recruiting immediately. Presumably this means that he will also be with the team for the bowl game, like Diaz was two years ago. If so, does this mean that Kotelnicki will only be able to observe practices for the bowl game and will not be involved in game-planning?
Based on another post in this thread he can. This makes me happy. Now we won’t have to wait until the Spring game, or God forbid the first game in 2024 to criticize an actual coaching
decision he makes.

That never stopped us. He’s already being criticized.

Of course he is. That began the moment his name was mentioned as a possible candidate. But now we’re just lobbing shells at his general location. Once he makes an actual decision we can zero in on him and make him wish he’d never entered the coaching profession.

Disappointed it wasn't Brennan Marion, but seems like a solid hire. Would take him over someone like Kingsbury.
There was some chatter about Marion being hard to work sort of like Yurcich. Not sure if true but back to back coaches that are similar luke that isn't a positive. I believe Marion has been job jumping and makes no bones about it that he's climbing.

Hadn't heard about difficult to work with. The one down side to him is that I do think he is looking to be HC, so if he did really well at PSU, he may be gone in a few years. However, that is going to be the case with most good coordinators.

Indeed.... I told him don't bring that gimmick garbage to PSU where you line OT out wide and bring them in motion, that doesn't work. Told him he needs to line the QB in the shotgun and always hand off to the RB standing next to him especially when we need a 1 yard gain.... He now gets the PSU standard for offense.
