Who do you see leaving, when, and for what? Here's my opening salvo:
Scheyer...2 yrs...head coach... BIG 10
James....3 yrs.....head coach.. AAC or Big East
Carrawell… survives transition from K and becomes next hot commodity...six yrs.
Smith...4 yrs... NBA front office.

I agree with Scheyer for sure.
I would love for Nate and Chris to get head coaching jobs. You know I can see Nolan as a college basketball commentator. He has the presence for that. The thing I think about is when Coach K does leave what will happen to his staff. I hope they all have jobs. Our new coach whether it's comes from the Duke family or outside will have his own staff I feel. OFC

Some interesting predictions there!

I think Scheyer will take a job in the next year or two at perhaps a mid major, then come back to be head coach when K leaves. I just have that feeling.

By the way, what do you make of the fact that Scheyer was the Duke representative on draft night, congratulating each Duke guy as he went by after being drafted? Is this meaningful in some way?

I missed the draft because I was away, but I'd say that was significant. Maybe he is the heir apparent after all. Did K have an excuse not to be there, like Calipari-Clown always is?

I wouldn't have a problem with Jon or others in the Duke family. The only candidate outside would be Brad Stevens of course. OFC

K is never at the draft. Scheyer has been there the last couple years. Believe Cape was there prior to that.

I really think its great for K to send Scheyer, or another rep of the Duke brand. Personally I would like to see K there for even more Duke exposure.

However, I think K probably figures he might steal some of our kids thunder on what is THEIR NITE.In that respect its a very honorable gesture on his part. OFC

Scheyer, Nolan and James were there last year and Scheyer this year.

Scheyer- two years SEC or AAC

James - one year mid major

Carawell - Mid major or NBA staff

Nolan - NBA front office or Scheyer’s staff

I like a Scheyer/Nolan combination. Not out of the question. Of course a lot of things will happen in the next 3-5 years. I didn't see Capel leaving for Pitt at all.

I assume Capel realizes his mistake by now. At least I would hope so. Their roster next year looks terrible.

Posters forget the hardest part of Capel’s first year was convincing the( I think it was like seven players) to stay with the team. He hasn’t really had a chance to truly hit the recruiting trail with scholarships because Pitts been maxed out .

Capel knew it would be an uphill battle I’m sure .

Pitt is in the best conference but Capel must know that at best he's playing for 4th or 5th place in the league. I guess he wanted to stay local. No Coach K alum has distinguished himself yet. Maybe Capel feels if he can make Pitt relevant, he gets the inside track.
