Yea I don't see the train getting back on the tracks this year. Grimes hasn't been what they thought eitherRuled ineligible the rest of this year and next year. KU’s not the same without him and Azubuike.
So a kid who worked hard his whole life to be able to be a D-1 college player cannot play because his “guardian” (not parent) took $2500?? What are we doing here.
I don’t mean to turn this into a whole “pay the players” discussion, but this is stupid. Let the kid play, I’m sure Self would have zero problem cutting the NCAA a personal check for 10 times the amount his guardian received.
I hate Kansas, root for them to lose every game.
I hate the NCAA more, if it wasn’t for my odd obsession with Duke basketball, I wouldn’t give them a cent or a second of my time.

If I ever need someone to help me dispose of a body you’ll be damn sure I’m calling UNC.And unc cheater u got off scott free. There is something terribly wrong in this picture. It makes me despise those smug cheaters even more. The cheaters own the NCAA. Even when they did come down on the football team for selling shoes the players only sat 3 games instead of 4 because one game got cancelled. 4 games is 4 games. How do they keep getting by with that crap. OFC

Good call. Reminds me of a corrupt government. Everyone in the world knows they are corrupt but can't do a thing about it. They even own the ACC commissioner which by the way is another shady piece of work. There is no way an AD of a conference school , a former athlete and a alumni should have such a powerful position. Nobody should have that power. Who do you think our current ACC commissioner pulls for? How in the world did that happen? OFC
KU has been shady at best for years (since Self got there.) I don't feel bad for them at all. And the NCAA can kiss off too. As far as I'm concerned, they both are shady. Let them bicker
So what exactly is your complaint. Is it because he only got $2500? The fact remains that he chose to go to KU at least in part because someone he was close to got paid off. In this day and age, I am not going to believe he did not know what was happening or that it was wrong. It does not matter whether it was $2500 or $250000. In cases such as this one, the NCAA has no choice but to bring the hammer down as a disincentive to cheating boosters, coaches, players, players’guardians, and parents. The kid should not be permitted to play. It is simple to me. There is a rule that says that money cannot be paid by anyone to influence a kid’s choice of schools, and, when the kid chooses that school, even in part, because of the payment, he should pay the price of a stiff suspension. I am totally down with that rule. The fault in this case lies not with the NCAA but with the kid and his guardian. Also, bear in mind, the kid was not working hard his whole life, he was playing a fricking game. The one thing you are right about is that this incident is not connected to the “pay the players” discussion. It involves only bribery and a willingness to accept a bribe when you know it is wrong. The kid ran the risk of a bad result when he chose Kansas knowing of the bribe or his guardian did. Now they rightfully have to live with it.So a kid who worked hard his whole life to be able to be a D-1 college player cannot play because his “guardian” (not parent) took $2500??
