Has he finally hired some assistants ( haven't checked)? I read at one time he was having trouble getting them to sign on at KU.

Edit...looked and he hired first one yesterday (a former LSU player) as a DB coach

Bo Pelini is available. He probably could recruit from his car with all the JUCOs in Kansas
Bo crootin from the car!

Sims will be a good head coach. I think he would be a good middle to lower division head coach. Not surprised that he would go for that as opposed to an assistant at a P5. Once You've been the boss as long as he has, you like to call the shots

He was an assistant on Carl’s staff at FAU and at Indiana. I guess it wasn’t for him.

Kansas currently has one commit, a two-star RB. Man, does Les Miles have his work cut out for him.
Les IMO will bring in the best recruiting class KU has seen in a long while. He gives them instant credibility and IMO more than front butt Charlie did. I'm not saying they're going to end up with a top 30 class but Les will find some good players.

KU and KSU are both dumpster fires right now. They have a combined 9 commits. Les certainly will give KU instant credibility. All he has to do is roll into some high schools with decent talent, shake hands with that National Championship ring on, and he’ll get some players. He won’t win a National Title there, but he’ll have them bowling sooner rather than later.

KSU... well Bill didn’t exactly leave the cupboard stocked. So could be a long road ahead for them.

I've said this before, but Ogeron isn't well-liked by the high school coaches in Louisiana.
Miles is still well loved in that state and I expect that he will keep Tony Hull on staff.
Tony Hull is KU's RB coach who has already established a strong KU - Louisiana pipeline.
And Chevis Jackson was the MAC recruiter of the year in 2017 with strong Georgia ties.

They just hired Chip Lindsey ,Auburn Offensive Coordinator to be there OC at Kansas.I wonder how this might effect recruiting from Kansas to here.Looks like Kansas State is looking at clemson DC Brent Venables as head coach .

Corcoran is sounding like he will check them out. Before he looked like a lock here, but now he has some better coaches at home to choose from..Hopefully he likes it here more then playing for one of his home states teams..

Why do we think K State isn't going to keep doing what the wizard did, just keep the juco train rolling in the little apple? at least in the short term....

He was recruiting coordinator at Indiana, but did coach under Carl. He took a D2 job at Missouri Southern

I like Concoran's chances with us, however Kansas State is also looking at Coach Seth Littrel pretty heavily from what I've heard. I also have seen this from WIBW TV that Leavitt (DC at Oregon) has worked with Snyder before and was projected to be the coach-in-waiting in 2017. [Sean] Snyder is also in the discussion but I'm in favor of Venables.

KSU becomes a coaching graveyard now. Zero draw to that place.

Looks like Les just hired Auburn's OC--although I think it was actually Gus' offense (maybe why he made this move)

Littrell withdrew his name from KSU. Sounds like it might be NDSU Kliemen headed to Manhattan.

BTW...Pooka arrested on a domestic battery this morning. These kids never learn.

I’m not a fan of Miles at KU or Colorado now loading up with Georgia assistants. They are top recruiters and they will try their best lock-up Midwest kids before reaching down into familiar territory in Louisiana and Georgia.

KU has hired Mike Ekeler to coach Special Teams.

The last time he coached in Lawrence, this happened:

Good hire for them probably. Our biggest concern about KU right at this moment is that they might come in and offer scholarships to some of our walk on candidates. Can definitely sell immediate playing time.
