They played about 33 minutes of inspired ball. If they had played this well all season they would be in the tournament. Get ready folks this is the type of game we will see the rest of the way. Teams playing with us for a while but can't hang with us all 40!!

They played very well - Hill especially. They also shot well from 3. They would have won a lot more games had they played all of them like the two against UK.

Much better team than their record shows. The big factor is getting some players healthy, which they really haven't had all season. I had a feeling that they would play tough for a while and you have to credit Donovan for getting them ready. They'll be a dangerous team in the SECT.

My question is: Why did they go away from the 3? At one point later in the game, they weren't even looking for a 3. As well as they shot it, I was surprised but happy that they kept driving and we kept blocking.

Did they go away from the 3 because they were tired?

I'm sure the NIT will be interested in having them, despite their record.

FL has lost 11/16 games by 7 points or less...and that with losing so much from last year, injuries, and the stupidity of Finney-Smith for putting himself ahead of the team.

Are they a NCAA Tourney team? No. Are they anywhere near as bad as their 15-16 record? Absolutely not.

They did play this way all year. According to Kenpom, their "luck" rating was 350th. In other words, they were the second most unlucky team in the country. That didn't really play that bad.

Can they go to the NIT with a losing record?

Aike..I respectfully disagree...I live 50 miles from Gnsvlle, and attend several games a year with my Bull Gator buddy
This Gator team has been a disappointment from a leadership standpoint. The don't have one for these close games....IMO and others thats why they have lost so many as you stated by 7 points or less. That's not unlucky...that's just performance....for example see how they performed at the O'Dome in the last few minutes of the UK game....they just looked disorganize and inept, after playing well for the first 35 minutes...when the pressure came up the were just lost.
Billy was quoted often, after games something like this..." we told them what needed to be done, but no one did it. They just don't do what we have told them". That is leadership Imo.
They have some good returners, and a couple of good guys coming in...it will interesting to see if Billy ca get them going next year.
Go Cats.
