Just seems like the state tournament would make more sense to go after, rather than local churches. 16 regions worth of fans state wide. (i'm not a fan of that move either, just making a comparison).

How are teachers doing - they mad at Beshear yet or glad schools are still open? Would they have same opinion of Bevin or would there be a huge uproar against him?

It's probably good Beshear won, bc I can only imagine the Bevin vs teachers deal at a moment like this.

"Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Wednesday recommended churches across the commonwealth cancel their services to stem the spread of the coronavirus."

Louisville CJ.
You said, "I thought he was recommending CHURCHES not meet. Not that people shouldn't attend."

Read that back to yourself.

Great. Thanks a lot Gov. Most people I work with look for a reason not to attend church anyway. Now Govy boy gives them an excuse.

Our church isn't cancelling anything, although we will take proper precautions.
I think the recommendation to cancel was so we as church leaders would at least take all the precautions if we do open the door. Limit greetings and maybe skip communion or make it as sanitary as possible.

If you look for a reason to not go to church you will find one. The people like that don’t want to go but don’t want to say they don’t want to go. I’ll give trump credit for that. He doesn’t go up church and doesn’t want to but doesn’t make up reasons why.

If our moron governor really cared about people he'd cancel abortions instead of church.

I participate in a reading pals program at a local elementary school on Wednesdays. I honestly felt more at risk there yesterday, than i did at church last night, and it's not close.

And the State Tournament rolls on.

Is your church closed on Sunday?

No. We encouraged anybody who is sick, showing symptoms, or is uncomfortable to stay home, but we will have services until a mandate is given, which our church will abide by. At this point, it is a suggestion from the governor. Just don't know why he waded into church, rather than other, riskier things, IMO.

OK. Problem solved. Stop trying to make a thing out of nothing. This isn't the governor making all the decisions and recommendations. He's just the one relaying the information. There is not some great Beshear vendetta against churches. If the makeup of a congregation skews older than most, and older people are more susceptible to the virus, then it seems like a pretty good idea to me. Whether we want to admit it or not, lots (not all) of older people see going to church as an obligation. If the building is not open, then folks will stay home. Watch services on TV, read the bible, listen to music, pray. All things that can be done at home outside of corporate worship. God isn't counting the density of praying individuals within a certain square footage. The Church is not a building.

Thanks for volunteering at the school, by the way. More people should do that instead of complaining.

The Reading Pals program is a pretty good thing. My company encourages us to do it, on company time. It seems to make a difference with kids who are behind, or have issues at home.

Yes, it dangerous for the elderly, or people with underlying conditions. But so is influenza. Which by the way DOES effect millions every year. Yes, it is mass hysteria. Look at this sh*t in Memphis.
Morons are spraying their kid in the face with Lysol.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">They are handling the Coronavirus differently in Memphis <a href="https://t.co/v4NcO73E9T">pic.twitter.com/v4NcO73E9T</a></p>&mdash; HOT 97 (@HOT97) <a href="">March 10, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
You gotta love Memphis. What a waste of humanity. When ever I want a good laugh or see the extreme I go to a Memphis website.
