Hey guys looking for some help. I purchased two tickets off StubHub for next Saturday’s game with MSU. My tickets say “dugout chair back general admission.” My question is how do those tickets work? It doesn’t appear they are assigned seats, or am I mistaken? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can't buy tickets at the stadium before the game, right? You have to use Ticketmaster or some online service, right?

I’ve always bought them before going to the game. I’ve never tried to buy them at the game. Tickets online (StubHub, Ticketmaster, etc) are a little pricey in my opinion. The two I bought today were $9 each but said general admission. One bit of advice I can offer is to stay away from the tickets that say “Bern.” You’re sitting on those stone seats.

As of last year you could still buy them at the stadium, but then they just send them to the app. You'll need the ukathletics app regardless. Not sure about this year.

I’ve always found it easier to purchase prior to the game. I’m always concerned that if I try and buy at the game, there may not be any tickets available.

I think the bigger problem is there is a relatively large chunk of season ticket holders who have the majority of the better seats that just never go to the games. Then when you walk up to buy the day of games tickets there are none but the stadium is empty.

I’ve noticed that myself. I’ve been to several games since KPP has opened and not many good tickets have been available, yet the seats behind home plate have been mostly empty.

Clarify for me folks. If I drive over to Lex to take in a game at KPP for a routine game, I may not get a seat? I'm confused. I can go to a Bats game and get a cheap ticket and sit anywhere someone isn't sitting. I would like to see a game at KPP but dang.

Yes that is partially correct. Walking up to the ticket window the day of a game there will be a limited number of seats available to purchase. But UK finally implemented the (old) policy that at the start of the third inning you can “move” to any unoccupied seat (excluding the club level seats). That’s the policy they ran over at The Cliff but did not use it the first couple years at KPP.

So, as I recall, there are reserved seats behind home plate. Those go to season ticket holders. There are then general admission ticket sections behind each dugout. These are chairback seats. Those seats do not have assigned ticketing. If you buy one of those tickets then it is first come/first serve in the seat you want. I am not sure how easily available these will be to obtain at the gate. After that there is berm seating which is the limestone walls and/or the grass hills. Bring your own chair to these as sitting on what is provided is generally considered as terrible.

I think a confusing thing is both the berm and the dugout seats are listed as GA then as dugout or berm. So, just make sure you're picking the right one and probably just buy ahead of time instead of at the gate.

There is some confusion regarding chairbacks that are assigned seats and chairbacks that are open seating. Then you also have the berm. Just for some clarity if you own a smart phone you will always be able to get into KPP, maybe be a berm seat, but still. Lots of folks are taking folding chairs in for the berm. Also, those chair backs that are general seating may have been 90% full twice in the last four years. For context in the Tennessee series last year you could still “get in” at any point before and during the game

Unless we host a regional I don’t see a time in the near future that you couldn’t ever get into KPP. Hope that helps.

Personally I would get tickets online and in advance. I think it’s just easier for me like that. The season ticket holders seem to not show up, at least not at the games I’ve been to.

I may just show up and see what happens. For baseball games, I tend to wander around and take in the game from various angles.
