Yep March is for dough. Keep that mind set going. Iowa only cares about March. That seems to be working well.

You are going to get laughed out of the building with that, but he would 100% be on a staff if I was building a program. I don't think most people realize the reputation/ connection he has. Not as head coach, but the combination of Cenzo, Kem, and Hayden Hidlay would have some sort of role on my staff for sure.
The HWC is a completely separate entity. The University can’t and won’t fund the HWC as it’s not a part of the school.
Spencer wants nothing to do with coaching.
Thats BS and we know it. Dual meets are important. Losing 4-6 duals and saying they don't matter is not acceptable!
If that's the attitude coming from our coaches, then it's time for an immediate change!

And yet you didn't care one bit about it going into this season as maybe the biggest anti-Brands whiner on here. Going into this season Brands was 291-28-1. Gable finished 355-21-5. Pretty damn comparable when comparing to one of the top 2 or 3 most successful coaches of all time....
Aslo, Brands is 140-15 at Carver. Gable was 120-11....
I was looking at from the perspective of relationships and coaching the various weights:
Nolf & SL were Young Gun teammates.
Nolf, N Lee, and Aaron Brooks were college teammates.
Carr and Brooks are good friends with similar personalities.
"You were only mad he was bad at NCAAs before the season, so now you can't be mad that he's ALSO bad at duals" is not the argument you think it is lol.
When the women started drawing much bigger crowds it was the kiss of death and would be for wrestling also.
Supposedly, so was Tom Brands before Iowa snagged him. Sometimes things don't work out. Also, Jaggers. Also, Dlagnev (possible return since Snyder and Burroughs are in waiting at Neb). Best to monetize on a coaching opportunity when it presents itself.

Has the feeling of, let’s set our expectations low so if we sorta outperform those new low expectations then NCAAs was a dazzling success!

The POINT was now they are using it and saying a good finish in March doesn’t matter this year. The argument is simply that you can’t have it both ways…
It’s all about redirecting until March and then reappearing in the fall.
Give TnT 65 more duels and I’m guessing their loss total will be double that of Gable.
The sooner you stop comparing Tom to Gable the sooner you will see its time for a change.
we live in a world of what have you done for me lately. The answer is not enough. TNT have had a great run will go down in history as 1 of the best coaches EVER. You keep arguing that the product on the mat is solid. My eyes must be really poor because they are not producing. TNT can’t wrestle the matches so their message must not be getting to the team. TNT can still coach at a very high level but maybe not an Iowa. IMO change needs to happen before the great class of 2027 comes in.
Dang, that was a name I honestly hadnt really thought of. I think he will be successful wherever and whenever he gets a chance.
I agree with this up until the "great class of 2027" part. Good class yes but there isn't a PJ Duke,Bo Bassett,Jax Forest type of recruit coming. Solid AA level guys. Don't expect a true freshman champion or anything crazy.

I havent seen anyone say this but i agree with you. I will take dual losses if they show up and win in March. I just dont think winning in March has happened enough lately.

You missed my point. I fully understand how HWC is funded.
if you’re trying to land a new coach and you limit the conversation to only being about the University of Iowa coaching job, you better stick with what you have because there is zero chance of getting any of the guys being discussed.
This may very well be the reason why we don’t make any changes. PSU and Okie state make it work, Iowa won’t make it work. Changes need to be made in more aspects of the program than just coaching, if we want to compete for National Championships and be in the running for the best recruits.
Are you saying change coaches then give the new coach advantages regarding the hwc. Wouldn't it be easier to give the current coaching staff the same advantages you think any new coach will require?
