What's your opinion of him ? I think he is really good but a good part of the time he comes over as being really angry.
He often curses in his tweets. I have never seen other national sports writers do that.

He's an excellent sports writer. Actually, he's really good on the radio too - not monotone, good inflection points, keeps the conversation moving forward, etc.

He apparently stopped doing the UK podcast I used to listen to last year. Anyone know if he has another UK related podcast somewhere?

I enjoy his writing. He’s a good reporter.

I do sometimes wonder how his employer allows him to tweet political stuff from his work account. I worked in the press many years ago when social media first became a thing, and we had to sign something saying we wouldn’t post political opinions on our social media pages. We weren’t allowed to like political candidate pages unless we agreed to like every single one in a particular race.

I’m far from conservative, so Tucker’s takes don’t bother me. BUT, I could see where they would bother others.

Its kind of sad

He is one of them dudes that obsesses over people who do not share the same opinions/values that he does. His obsession with certain politcal figures, like Trump is unhealthy. He still tweets about Trump.

He likes to state his opinions on social and political issues as facts and if you don't see it the same way, you are wrong and likely an idiot. He comes off very condescending and pretentious to people who have differing opinions.

It seems like it would be a miserable way to live. Worried about everyone knowing what your opinion is and getting upset with the people who dont see things the same way. Obsessing over people who have different politcal/social views than you do, is not healthy for your mental well being.

I would say the same about Rex

Kyle does have excellent sports articles and information. He is very good at his job.

"I don't agree with his political views, therefore, he is bad at his job."
And, yet, no one posted anything like that. A few people blasted him, but no one called him "bad at his job".

As a matter of fact, the consensus posting on this thread is that he is quite good at his job, notwithstanding his annoying political rants.

Did you even the read the posts, or did your knee just instinctively jerk leftwards?

Kyle is a good writer. I find him interesting to read. As others have commented, he can, at times, be a hyper defensive jerk and overreact when people disagree with his opinion. He also occasionally makes knee jerk conclusions and then rants about them.

Best Kentucky beat writer since Chuck Culpepper.

I could care less what his (or anybody else's) opinions are on politics. I ignore that stuff as much as possible. He is way to super liberal (I'm down the middle/lean slightly left and some of his takes shock me).

But I'm an adult and I am able to ignore that and focus on the writing about Kentucky which is fantastic.

He seemed to be the only one calling Cal out about how terrible his team was. But yeah, he needs to leave the political stuff out of his sports persona.

Tough to deny he is good at his job and is very plugged into the basketball team. Have to wonder if that will change since he moved to Nashville though. That being said he seems like a miserable person who hates anyone who has a differing view from him. Agreeing to disagree isn't something that he believes in. I don't have a subscription to the athletic and I don't follow him on twitter. Don't really miss him and his takes, lots of places to get UK basketball information.

One thing that I would find incomprehensible about Kyle is his apparent belief that anyone gives a **** about his political beliefs. He apparently gets away with it, probably because he's Far Left (he would get canned if he was Far Right). I cannot imagine ranting and raving about my political thoughts on my work social media. Nobody that I work with wants to hear it, whether they agree or disagree. I save that kind of crap for the Paddock when I'm on my own time and I'm self-employed so I don't even to have to worry about getting fired. And when I am at work, I don't have time to think about political ********, anyway.

What in the world would cause someone to be so arrogant to post their political fanaticism on a work twitter? Perhaps one of the Lefties here could educate me about this because I seriously don't get it.

He called Tim Brando a "xenophobe" on twitter because Brando said it's crazy that illegal immigrants who test positive for Covid are sent to Dallas in a bus while Americans are losing jobs left and right because of this crap. I called Tucker out for being an idiot and all he could reply was "OK". He's a tool and the largest shed this world has ever seen.

Talented at his job, but 1st class dbag. Everyone has different views & that’s perfectly fine. But he’s definitely 1 that thinks his opinions should be fact & if you don’t 100% agree then you’re less intelligent, racist, sexist, whatever the hot button word of the day may be. Ppl with notoriety act like their opinions are more important than the common person. Jones is the same way. Perfectly fine with anyone sharing their views. But Jones used to have a separate account for that. That way he could share his views, & if you just followed him for sports, you didn’t have to read through all that. Wish more of them would go back to that. Less drama that way.

Tucker is the only man on earth to have children. Hard to blame him for being angry all the time. Being the first man to produce children Has to be an incredible task.

I think he’s the best beat writer covering UK since maybe ever. I don’t remember anyone better. I think the issue isn’t that he interjects personal politics. To each his own, although I’ve never understood why anyone whose career depends on appealing to as many people as possible would want to alienate half the country on purpose. The thing is he’s a True Believer, for whom the world is cartoonishly simple. All the good people and good ideas are on one side, and all the bad people and bad ideas are on the other. And he gets profane about it.....

I hate to be this guy, but a good portion of this board lives in a similar bubble as Mr. Tucker. Kyle’s is blue. Y’all’s is red. “All _____ (my side) good, all ____ (other side) bad,” is the formula used by both sides.

All right-wingers are homophobic racists. All left-wingers are gay soy boys. Both do a great job playing the victim and speaking in absolutes.

I can only speak for myself, but, unlike Tucker, I don't take my political beliefs to work with me. About half of my social friends are liberal, although none are them are "woke". I don't associate with the "woke".

Reading through, looks like the majority doesn’t care what his politics are if he would just use a separate account for it. Almost everyone here has said he’s talented at his job. And as others have said, most of us don’t get to go rant about our political views while at work.

Well, I hate to tell you but you're not the "insightful" guy you think you are.

Stereotypes is your thing it seems.

Tucker is a self righteous douche and arrogant. I don't care how he votes. Nobody likes those types.

I was just pointing out the hive mind group think isn’t limited to Kyle Tucker and liberals or CI posters and conservatives.

They’re both cults in their own way. The truth is always somewhere in the middle of those extremes. Surely reasonable people can see this?
