As usual, a great OU player will go to a team I care nothing about....or dislike.

Murray has a huge challenge playing in the NFL, at least from an historical prospective.
How many QB's 5'10" or shorter have had meaningful success....championship success....in pro football ?
My answer to that is there's never been a 5'10" (or perhaps 5'9") talent like Murray to have ever played in the NFL. Doug Flutie at 5'10" is the last "short" QB I recall to have had success, but he did not have Murray's level of overall talent, and no team he ever played for was championship worthy.

I don't think anyone believes Drew Brees is 6'0".
There's a guy in Seattle that is listed at 5'11", and I hear he may have won a Super Bowl at some point in time.
I am referring to heigths of 5"10" or less.....not 5'11" or 6'0".

Good luck Kyler. Like Baker, I hope he lands with a team that really wants and needs him, and along way, he can prove the doubters, naysayers and haters wrong.

I would like to see Kyler get taken by the Giants. Not because I'm a Giants fan, but because they have a stud RB in Barkley, outstanding WRs in Beckham and Shepard and an aging QB (Manning) who appears to be on his way out. Kyler could make an immediate and positive impact on this team and launch a successful NFL career.

How many have been given a chance? The game has changed and so must the paradigm.

I thought he tried that by going to the A's to let them know he was considering the NFL, but the A's did not bite, so Kyler chose enter the draft.
Has that not been addressed, here? I got the idea that there is a Cap on Rookie Contracts, and they couldn't up their ante...Anyone?

What does the Cardinals organization have to provide Kyler if Kliff gets his way? Offensive line? Receivers? Maybe the offensive scheme would be to his advantage!! What’s the chances Arizona will pick Kyler. Asking as a man who doesn’t know poo about the NFL. Educate me.

I don't think there is rookie salary cap in MLB. NFL, yes. MLB has a completely separate "guaranteed money" base also. I was a bit unclear. I meant Kyler should bait the NFL to get more money out of the As. As I understand, the As indicated to KW's agent that they were open for discussion on revised terms of his contract.

As I understood it, MLB teams are not allowed to draft actual contracts with rookies. They have to play first. There is guaranteed money but no contract.

The A's were attempting to put Murray under contract as a "rookie," but MLB claimed they weren't making exceptions to that rule in his case. Because he was drafted last year and had undergone training within the A's organization, he was technically considered a minor league player during this past year and therefore not a rookie. They were playing the gray area and what constitutes a rookie.
