Hmmm - should ours include bbq grills, sand volleyball courts and basketball courts, or just be focused on football only?http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/a...virtual-tour-facility-reveals-mini-golf-beachNot even done being built and already surpassed.

And the next school to build will surpass Clemson's. And then the next will surpass that one...and so on and so on.http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/a...virtual-tour-facility-reveals-mini-golf-beachNot even done being built and already surpassed.
If I'm not mistaken ours will have a game room (or a lounge with a gaming area to play Xbox/PlayStation, etc), a full service kitchen, juice and smoothie bars, hot and cold tub pools with TVs to watch....and a ton more. Those things help attract recruits. Why would you not want it? Of course we can't afford to build facilities like the Clemson, Bama, Tenn, etc. but let's not act like it doesn't matter.
Actually, the new training facility is totally state of the art and will equal or surpass anything currently utilized in the SEC.Those things help attract recruits. Why would you not want it? Of course we can't afford to build facilities like the Clemson, Bama, Tenn, etc. but let's not act like it doesn't matter.

Good post. Our facility, I'd argue will be one of the best in the country based on these 3 things you just mentioned.Just to expand on what Big Baller said, there are a lot of other things in our facility that isn't mentioned in the above article. Things that few or nobody else has in college or the professional ranks. Here is just a few of them
Sensory deprivation tanks similar to those used by Navy SEALS and special warfare units. This will help calm players down and alleviate stress, promoting faster mental recovery from workouts, games, life, etc. Nobody else has these in college or the pros. Not one, but two of these!
A 70-foot long, 6-foot deep cold plunge tank capable of holding 30-40 players at once. The large deep pool is superior to more common cold tubs everyone else has because the deeper you get in the water, the higher the pressure gets. In addition, players will be able to move around in the pool, which will release the microbubbles that surround the body, creating a better cooling effect. The first of its kind in the US.
Turf training hills, one sloped at 20 degrees and one at 15 degrees, along with two plyometric ramps. Oregon is the only other program in the country — college or pro — with this feature.
Plus it has a state-of-the-art high performance lab that is the first of its kind anywhere in the sports world, with unique and customized equipment designed and built just for the University of Kentucky Football Program. Some may or may not like Korem, but he is cutting edge when it comes to the strength and conditioning world, he just isn't much of a people person.

Sad, but this is the world of SEC and college football in general. Also, please remember none of this would likely happen unless the infrastructure, academic and health care components of the university were modernized as well. Some of you totally missed the point. I nor anyone else said KY's new facility sucks or is not state of the art. Just think its funny and sad that KY finally gets this facility done with all the latest and neatest things and even before the doors officially open another program is already attempting to trump everyone.
Point being the arms race in college sports is ridiculous and even after KY's facility is done UK cannot get complacent again and must keep adding things that separates UK's facilities from others.
Me neither KC...pretty sure gonna be able to swing a guided tour:football::football::smiley::smiley::sunglasses::clap::clap:[thumb2]Saw some photos last week from the inside and have seen some stuff in person recently. Very cool stuff. Weight room will be 14,000 sq feet up from 10,000 currently and the new hills will be a great tool as well. New locker room and training table are sweet as well. The cold tub you have to see in person to appreciate - don't know if making them bigger will help with the temps - hated those things. Once you get in above the hip/waist level you will cry from the cold and pain - big difference with recovery though. The sensory deprivation tanks are awesome and whole love to sneak in one of them. Do a google search on Steph Curry and the one he goes to out in the Bay area - might go try the one up in Cincy to see first hand. Great upgrades and cannot wait until July to see it.
Hmmm - should ours include bbq grills, sand volleyball courts and basketball courts, or just be focused on football only?
Spend the money on assistant coaches and coordinators. No kid goes to a program to play for the x box room.
Just like no kid signs with a school for bbq grills and sand volleyball courts.Spend the money on assistant coaches and coordinators. No kid goes to a program to play for the x box room.
The same people who bitched about Joker driving the ice cream truck up to practice because it wasn't all about football are now wanting beach volleyball and grills. Too funny.I find it Hilaoius that people are complaining about our New Practice Facility. If ours had beach volleyball courts and BBQ grills, then people would complain it didn't have an 18 hole golf course.
Exactly! Kids today look at shiny uniform and other intangibles that the average person would not think! That is one thing that Stoops has brought into the recruiting mix! Once our training center is completed it will benefit us more than anyone may realize in recruiting! Some might think those extra things are silly but it can have a lot of positives. Those things will help your team with communication and building relationships that carry over to the football field. Chemistry between players is unmeasurable. It will also keep some players around the complex and out of trouble and causing mischief.
I don't know why you didn't think this would happen with any aspect of major college sports facilities. Why is it sad? Why shouldn't other schools have similar or even better stuff? UK isn't at the top of the money heap. Some of you totally missed the point. I nor anyone else said KY's new facility sucks or is not state of the art. Just think its funny and sad that KY finally gets this facility done with all the latest and neatest things and even before the doors officially open another program is already attempting to trump everyone.

Not getting your point. How does beach volleyball or mini golf trump everyone? I would think our actual training stuff that no one else has 'trumps' what others are doing. Some of you totally missed the point. It would take nothing to add beach volleyball and grills. They wouldn't even need donors. I'm not sure how that makes anything state of the art.Not getting your point. How does beach volleyball or mini golf trump everyone? I would think our actual training stuff that no one else has 'trumps' what others are doing.
Can't wait to see this place opened. The 2017 class could be our best class EVER if the Cats are able to get off to a good start next year and finish with a bowl game. Gotta think the new training facility being FINISHED is a huge selling point for these guys now.

I've been in the Oregon facility quite a few times...it's..um...impressiveThink you are a little off on this one - signed the University of Oregon.
