This team is done . . . . NCAA dream over. (sarcasm)

Hope they have fun in Spain and that Falzon improves his shooting tomorrow. Also hope to see more minutes for JVZ.

4-25 from beyond the arc for Demps, B-Mac, Lindsey and Falzon? OUCH!!!
16-41 disparity in foul shot attempts? Spaniards hit just over 50% and still outscored us from the stripe by 12.
Not a recipe for success....though I was glad to see Falzon pull down 6 boards, and Law apparently hit some big shots to give us a chance.

I'm guessing the BiG is a lot more physical than the Spanish League and the Cats struggled to adjust to the whistles. Or else there was some paella being served by the refs. Oh well... hopefully they learned something. Got to like seeing Tre and Vic take charge. Plus, its hard doing anything a day after arriving in Europe. Jet lag is tough and usually takes me 2 to 3 days to adjust.

There must have been some pretty ball movement. There were 5 assists, combined, for the entire game. ;)

Going toe to toe with a professional team days after landing on foreign soil with whatever jet lag might be affecting them and losing by 2 despite a 25-FT disparity? Call me Pollyanna, but I'd say that's a good sign. So is Olah's efficient line across the board.

It's worth noting that this team plays in Spain's top division. I believe 2 other teams we play on the trip play in Liga ACB, the other 2 are 2nd tier

Don't forget the 3 point line is farther away in international ball than the NCAA......

looks like a scrimmage more than a game! although that could be partly b/c of the wall in the background (ie not stands with people in them) and the casual jerseys, especially all the untucked ones!

does anyone know what the attendance was like?

I don't believe the assists were presented on the scoresheet. I watched the highlights. The NU Facebook feed showed 17 made buckets. 11 were assisted. I had 4 for Mac, 3 for Demps, 2 for Olah, 1 from Ash...and 1 from an undetermined teammate (the drop down feed leading to Olah's hook shot).

Would like to see Olah's 2 pt efficiency a good bit higher than 50% (fine for a guard or SF but not a 5).

Not much to take away from this game other than an off-game shooting the ball behind the arc from everyone not Law or Lumpkin.

Not worried that Falzon struggled from outside (he'll start hitting them) and like the fact that w/ that part of his game not working, he was effective around the basket.

Think how much time Falzon sees at the 4 will largely be predicated on his D - some of that being reliant on his size (which he has) and athleticism (supposedly decent - no Law, but more athletic than Shurna), along w/ learning to counter the tricks that opposing upperclassmen will throw at him.

Ash's best bet on seeing playing time will be whether his D will be up to the task (which he has already acknowleged); if he can be the stopper against quick point guards, that will be a big help (the NU D 2 seasons ago much improved when CC switched Cobb onto the opposing PG; unfortunately, Cobb's health issues last season prevented in doing so).

16-41, eh? Well, I guess that will prepare the team for playing away games against the ÅCC.

If Falzon is more athletic than Shurna, that would be fantastic news because I thought Shurna was pretty athletic, particularly for a 4. Shurna could help bring up the ball every now and then and could finish above the rim on fast breaks. And he was good for a fair amount of steals and blocks. Falzon is on the smallish size for a 4 if his measurements are accurate, so above-average athleticism would be very helpful. I agree that it was really encouraging to see him scoring around the basket.

I am hoping that Law will start to take the ball to the basket/post-up as well. He's too athletic to just be a 3 and D guy in college.

This was not the 1st tier team, these clubs have teams in lower divisions too. From what I can tell the teams we're playing are from the 4th tier.
