This is a game Friday night with huge consequences. The victor will likely be the CCL champion. To the Providenve faithful, we haven't heard to much about it. Thoughts?

Not sure how many points LA should be giving, but this is going to be a close game, IMO.

PC is good, but LA is very good. LA won't cover the spread but will win and substitute as early as they can once the win is in their pocket. PC should win week 9 vs MC. Hopefully no one gets hurt with playoffs around the corner. They should do well with that OL and their running game.

Both teams seem to be peaking at the same time. The Providence fans are pretty loyal but they'll pack the house and be raucous for this one from what I've heard. It'll be a long ride for the team from Wilmette to New Lenox on a Friday night. Having said that, this may be a special LA team. They take things in stride, are a close knit unit and are a pretty confident bunch. It'll be a fun game. ( although I won't be looking forward to the ride back home)

One of our fellow bloggers son, Dyvalos, is a big man and a beast at nose guard. He'll be tough to handle. Also, that true 3 -4 defense PC runs is not something LA encounters very often. This game will be a tough win for the winner but I think will catapult them into the playoffs.

PC beat BR at BR 22-16 in week 5. PC finishes the regular season vs MC at Gately.

If I was Loyola AD and HC I would leave Wilmette at 2pm and host a nice light meal at 3 and have a walk through at 5 before getting taped up. That trip on a Friday afternoon can take 2 hours if you leave at 330 or 4.
Is the RB Bullie completely healthy? Is LA healthy as a whole?

Bullie is healthy and has regained his old form after the acl. He's starting to run instinctively again. They are as healthy as they've been all year. This game will come down to LA's young o line and the PC front 7, which are really good. Will our fantastic qb, Quinn Boyle, who I think is one of the top qb's in the state continue his great playing? I think so. His leadership skills are off the charts. This team will follow him anywhere and love playing for him.

Same opponent game scores = PC 28 St Rita 21 / PC 37 Fenwick 0 LA 34 St Rita 14 LA 41 / Fenwick 14 ............not sure how much subs played in either game...........for either side ......I am thinking LA 7-10 point favorite.........but Providence at home after a long bus ride and a chance to knock off the defending blue champ is pretty tasty.......... - it will be a good game.....LA needs to be ready for a battle .......I am sure they know they will have their hands full......looking forward to it !

When was the last time PC beat LA? 2006?
I believe PC beat them in 2009. I don't think PC has beat LA since. That being said, I've seen PC and LA a couple times each this year. LA is in a league of their own. CCL seems down this year overall, and PC barely got by Rice and Rita. I'll say LA wins 42-14.

Will Providence be 6a or 7a this year? 6a they could go deep but 7a I don't see them going past Quarters at best.

My phone won’t let me edit my post, so I’ll add another, he also holds one offer from an NAIA School as well, so I guess truth is, his Recruiting isn’t going anywhere.

So because you have an offer from a D2 school and an NAIA school your recruiting is going nowhere? Most of the smaller schools (D2, D3, NAIA) don't start recruiting hard until after the high school season. I don't know your son, but most D1 recruiters look for one thing in lineman - size, and two things in skill players (minus RB's) - height and speed. This isn't always the case, but if your son doesn't fit that mold, he better be exceptional to be undersized and still have a chance to play D1. They figure they can bulk up and train guys to fit a role. Every year backup lineman still get recruited by D1 schools because they are 6'5 280.

Basically, what I am saying is that there is absolutely no shame going to a D2 or NAIA school. They still have scholarship money to give, and in the midwest these schools are very competitive, and often get D1 transfers who don't even start. The GLIAC confrerence in Michigan sends guys to the NFL regularly, and might as well be a D1AA conference, and the MSFA NAIA conference has produced 5 of the last 6 NAIA national champions, with many other teams from the conference making the playoffs. Chances are if you don't have D1 offers by the end of the playoffs, then the D2's and NAIA offers will start coming in. Good luck to your son throughout the recruiting process.

I think that's a good start. There are some terrific D2 schools and the process will probably take off after the season. Good luck. I' ll be there tomm to se him firsthand.

Greasyitalian, pretty sure you must have mis-understood what I said.
I say his Recruiting is going nowhere because he has only one offer from an NAIA school, and one D2 School that seems like they might be interested. He doesn’t have any D2 offer.

I would be happy for him to play any type of ball in college. I don’t care what level. There just doesn’t seem to be any interest besides the 2 schools I talked about. Like I have told him from day 1, when he was 7, you go to college for free, and I win.

According to all “Experts”, we lost this game last summer or whenever during the scheduling meetings.

Very similar to when my boy played Coal City youth football and we had to meet Chanooka in the playoffs. Those that were there remember the outcome, and us Provi faithful can only hope for a similar one.

No fear though, for if The Ramblers do lose, it will be because they were “down that night” or because of the bus ride, not because they were beat.

Nothing against you Gforce5, I promise. And since you’ll be at the game Friday night, come by the men’s club tent and we’ll get you fed and can have some real convo in person. West side of the stadium, ask for Mike Davalos ( that’s me).

GreasyItalian, forgot to mention 2 things.
1. Not sure what NAIA division Grand View (Des Moines) is in.

2. I absolutely love the fact that your image is the hedgehog. 2 thumbs up for that, and even with those I’m pretty sure I still won’t “measure up”. Effing legendary!!

PC is pretty darn good and will make a run in 7A. PC's NG really stand out. Very quick and strong. Very disruptive in the backfield. LA's D is really good.

Holecek is the best coach in the catholic league and as long as he stays at Loyola they will keep on winning the blue. One thing I don't understand about providence though is how they refuse to play people both ways. Deshon gavin has a full ride to wiu to play db yet he doesn't play it for pc. They waited until they were down 28 to 3 to have sori take some snaps on offwnse.

Emcee, your son played a fantastic game. Surprisingly, PC looked overmatched tonight. Your o line is enormous. for LA, It was a workman like night for them. I think PC will go deep in 7A. As for LA, the little engine that could.

@Gforce5 thank you for saying so. He did a few things yesterday that I’ve never seen him do before. Like run 30 yards to make a tackle downfield and like tackle a running back using the center.

But what impressed me the most yesterday was your coach. It took him almost a half, but as soon as he found our weakness he exploited it, and proceeded to beat us on your next three offensive plays. Hats off to him.

Also, if you were there why didn’t you come over and sit down with us pregame? I wasn’t threatening you, I was honestly trying to get another prospective on how things were going in High School Football!!!

Good luck in the playoffs!!

I got to the game after the first quarter and by then all were seated and I just did the same. one item of recommendation for the school, give out rosters of the 2 teams and don,t charge for them. All they are are copies and we aren't at a college game. Small recommendation.

Do you have any kind of timeline for when markosovic or dauparas will be back into the line up if at all?
