While the Louisville women's basketball squad sits out their COVID pause, some spring women's sports are getting underway.

Yesterday, the Louisville Lacrosse squad began their 2021 season hosting #8 Florida at a chilly Louisville Lacrosse Stadium. The Cards hung in their with the ranked Gators for most of the first half, but, a late, 3-0 first half run gave the visitors a 7-4 halftime lead

Louisville fell victim to a 6-0 UF run in the second half and lost 14-7. The Cards got two goals from Caroline Blalock and Rachel Florek performed well in goalkeep, with 14 saves on 28 shots.

Scott Teeter did play a lot of his roster, including 11 freshmen in this on,. His post-game remarks:

" First of all, it was great to get out there and finally play outside competition, There were a lot of positives today, but there were some uncharacteristic things, as well. We got off to a great start and we were ready to play, we just didn't sustain that throughout."

Louisville LAX returns to the Louisville Lacrosse Stadium for a Thursday match against Colorado.

In Softball, the Cards had their South Carolina Tournament trip cancelled (weather) but Holly Aprile channeled her inner "Jeff Walz", started working the phones and set up a Sunday double-header with Alabama Action starts at 1 p.m. today. N0 TV or Internet coverage that I know of.

Happy Valentines Day!

Cards dropped both to the Tide, 5-0 aand 4-0. Game time temperature was a balmy 39 degrees -- and - I can tell you that the ol' bat stings when you connect with one at that temperature
