Dawns nightmare. Got beat by a bunch of white girls.
We need some beef inside. We were dominated by #15 in the first half and didn't have an answer for her. We need an A. Boston type.

Watched the first half. Chavez didn't look white to me. Just saying.

This team really needs the White Girl,, Kitts is an integral part of this squad.. They are gonna miss her all year. They go into NCAA's as a #3 or so seed in their region... Gonna struggle with any team that has an Inside Game!

Kitts is a good player but wouldn't have been the answer to #15 last night.

Next year we’ll have some very athletic and long line ups with Kitts, Tournebize, Watkins (?), and Edwards. I’m not sold on McDaniel or McDowell at all, so we’ll need to shore up the PG position, and get us a bonafide shooter and 3-pt threat. A legit Center would be nice, but we’ll have some athletic girls under the basket. Makeer is really interesting—a decent defender, smooth stroke from 10 feet, good free throw shooter, and showing some passion. I like her—hopefully she bulks up and blossoms in year 2

We’re 19-2 with significant wins under our belt. We have some glaring deficiencies and a few busts here and there, but I wouldn’t want to play us at all! No, we’re not beating UCONN, and we could easily get beaten by UCLA, LSU, Vandy, Texas, if we’re slacking in the tournament, but we still have a legit chance to get to Elite 8/Final 4. And we beat Oklahoma 7/10 times if we stretched it out

Bottom line is we've reached program status that requires fielding a team that conceivably could win the national championship. This ain't it. The pieces that might have made it feasible have fallen by the wayside.

I had a rough couple of days. I went to bed at halftime. What the hell happened? #15 must have taken us to the woodshed?

Frenchie wasn't mentioned in the 2nd half thread outside of "put her in". Did she sit the 2nd half or struggle (or both)?
Tournebize didn't play much in the second half. Our other bigs were playing so poorly that Dawn was forced to try her on Beers and she immediately got in foul trouble. Sat after getting her 4th foul.

Got ya. She doesn't have the body to bang with Beers. She has the height to play center but the game to play small / power forward. We need a big body transfer next year. We need help on defense.

Is Tessa back next season? I thought she has another year. You don't like her as a shooter?

Girls need to toughen up. Saniya Feagin handled Beers last year and she is 6'3". Just a lot of soft play and flopping by our girls looking for fouls. Long season though. If we get the victory against Vanderbilt, we would still be in a good position to win the SEC. Oklahoma already has three conference losses and were desperate for a win. Just need to get back on track and play one game at a time. You don't win or lose any championships in January.

Okot is a big girl. She should be able to hold her own with Beers or anyone. The talent is there. She seems to dominate until another big with some game comes along. Maybe Dawn can toughen her up before tournament.

Bingo. Okot has been in a funk since the first conference game when Essence Cody kept blocking her shot. She played in the SEC last year. So, I don't get why she is struggling so much with the step up in competition that comes with conference play.

Do not follow WBB but just looked up records and looks like the pendulum has swung back to it being dominated by UConn. Seems like they're back to beating everyone to a pulp. I guess we miss that big girl who played here.

They did have a close game against Michigan. Besides that, they haven't really played anybody. Beat up on USCw. We did that. They, also, beat up on Notre Dame who is having a down year.

Came back at end of regulation but still couldn`t get off a shot after a timeout and had 18 seconds. Raven should have pulled up & shot one or let Tessa. Leave bigs underneath to get a rebound. I know it`s not that simple but there was too much passing it looked like to me.
I knew we were done for when we didn’t even get a shot off. Had we gotten a clean look and missed things may have been different in OT. But I knew OK had our number mentally when that happened.

How did they score 19 points in OT? Is OT still just 5 minutes? That's more than they scored in the 1st Q and 4th Q and the same was what they scored in the 2nd Q.

Im not ready to say the sky is falling for this years squad. It took our best outside shooter going 1/10 in regulation AND the refs allowing Reagan Beers to play as physical as she wants to lose. The team looked tired in overtime and I dont blame them. The refs called a fairly even game but Beers and their other forward were extremely physical with us.

Vandy comes to town Sunday for the conference lead on the line. Win that and we are still on track.

Hopefully Alicia Tournebize can continue to develop and contribute. I feel like she is a taller Chloe Kitts. If she and Okot can build some chemistry and play together, I think a lot of our goals are still within reach.

Dauda has been a portal bust. Tac is still fairly young, and has time to continue to develop.

In my opinion, Tessa is our best shooter and she certainly wasn't 1-10.

Sky definitely not falling. Win Sunday and you are right back in control in the conference. There are 7 really good teams in the SEC this year. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose a couple more times and still win the conference.

Could be that our team was wasted. I don't know who all was on the court, but our bench isn't helping our starters, who themselves had several players struggling. Still, at the end of regulation, the game was ours to win. Losing like this was galling beyond measure.

I think I would be surprised, but I would be delighted.

agreed not ready to say the season is over, people saying the team sucks after one loss is a over reaction I think. Everyone has a bad night, but if they lose to Vanderbilt Sunday then it will be time to panic and rightfully so, but I think they will get right.

Exactly. And btw, that ain’t Dawn’s nightmare. It’s not getting a shot off with time expiring…
I think Dawn was trying to give the last shot to Joyce to boost her confidence, but Raven has been our most clutch player all year. Needed Raven to take that last shot IMO, but it is Dawn's team. She knows what she is doing. From her post-game interview, she doesn't seem to be too worried.
I think I would be surprised, but I would be delighted.
Why? Everyone in the Conference has 2 losses already except us, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Got home games against Tennessee and Vanderbilt. As Coach said last night, all of our goals are still attainable. The SEC is just going to beat each other up this year. The conference champion will probably have at least 3 losses.

There's an "it" factor I'm just not seeing. While I hope it surfaces, I just can't be peaceful until I see it emerging. And I think the REAL objective is out of reach for us. If I'm proven mistaken, well, that would be great.

I wasn't impressed with the coaching last night at all. For years, Dawn has had the talent to let the girls on the floor figure it out, but last night I think there should have been some adjustments made, and I never saw it happen. This team has been a poor rebounding team all year because they just don't box out. Oklahoma had 2 players to be concerned about.....the guard and the big girl down low. It was very apparent to me after the first quarter that SC had nobody that could deal with the OK big girl. Why she wasn't double-teamed for 3 quarters is beyond me! I have never seen so many layups by one girl in my life. Just poor effort on the post all the way around!
