What is a female Gaucho? A Gaucha? Gauchette?
Gaucha. As it’s both a Portuguese and Spanish word.

A cowgirl of the South American pampas. Often a term also used to describe the people of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and its biggest city, Porto Alegre.

I spent the worst night of my life in Porto Alegre. We were flying from Sao Paolo to Buenos Aires, and the pilot came on the intercom and said that BA was fogged in, so we had to stay the night in Porto Alegre. The Brazilian and Venezuelan I was traveling with looked at each other and said "oh no"......the put us up in a flea bag hotel with vermin in the room. I stayed awake all night with the lone light on the ceiling on keeping the rats away.

I was there. Was impressed by our defense. Also Kayla (Kayleigh?) Walsh, our 6'3" first year center, has impressive range on her shot. Made 3 threes, I think. Folk will have to guard her.

Veronica Burton was her usual self; she will drive the team this year. Courtney Shaw impressed. We might be a bit offensively challenged. But I'm hopeful for a strong season with a young team (other than Burton, Wood, and Satterwhite).

Because you were there, is Anna Morris out injured or just not playing?

I was in Porto Alegre once. Had some great food. Ended up in a strip joint because the customer I was visiting really wanted to go there.
