Philly screwed the pooch worse than LA in that draft. They gave up the #3 overall pick plus a future #1 pick in order to draft Markelle Fultz. Boston walked away with stud Jason Tatum who is far better than Ball or Fultz plus an extra first rounder (most likely a top ten pick from the Kings via Philly) in their back pocket.

Well, by definition...just being at the top is going to draw a certain amount of hatred from sports fans who have to deal with his "talents" beating up on their favorite team and winning ships instead of their favorite team winning them.

But what I find interesting is that Lebron is the only player in the Top 6 of the "Least Favorite" list above that doesn't have a major highly publicized controversy attached to his name. And yet he is even at the very top of that list. The other 5 have had some major controversy which understandably adds more people to the list of people that don't like them.

So what gives with Lebron being at the top of that list?

And don't say "RACISTS!!!". There are two honkies and a self-described blasian on that very same list. Do better.

He's comes across as smug and arrogant, as opposed to Jordan, who comes across as supremely self confident. He is from Ohio. Lastly, he's a liberal douchebag (I know that's redundant).
I'd venture to say 90% of the NBA is liberal. You hate them all? Honestly, I don't see how anyone can hate Lebron.

Well Kevin Durant even came out and said that no superstars want to come and play with him. He's respected for sure, but not that well liked.

Well he does leave a lot of teams' fans unhappy when he decides to bail on the team to try and win another title somewhere else. I'm sure that has rubbed a lot of Miami and Cleveland fans the wrong way. I personally don't hate him, but not a fan of him helping Duke with their recruiting. I'd prefer it if he and his agent kept out of the college game.

Pretty sure Jordan was a complete *** of and on the court. Probably still is. The LeBron hatred is just mind boggling. By all accounts he's like the most decent guy in the NBA. He's an intense guy on the basketball court. Y'know. The kind of thing that Jordan would have loved to have on his team.

Yeah cause the Bulls roster pretty much resembled the 2010 Cavs. Also, we were discussing their character.

Evidently the Lebron nut huggers can't read (no surprise lol) so I'll try again:

1. Lebron plays for the Lakers
2. Lebron supports K and Duke
3. Lebron is a liberal douchebag (see: "Beto" hat)
4. "The King"

Lots of great players in the NBA to support, past and present, who don't check all these boxes.

Is there an all time great athlete that is/was universally loved? If you are the best at what you do - even in the real world - you are going to be hated by some. Human nature and jealousy are tough to overcome.

I used to LOATHE Tiger Woods. Now that he has had so many issues and struggles (and isn't winning majors by 10 strokes), I find myself pulling pretty hard for him.

Not sure how any of that is "mind boggling".

I'll try a few:

Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Dr J, Larry Bird, Pele, Derek Jeter (played for the Yankees, which probably excludes him)

So have countless other players. Do you hate Magic Johnson? Kareem? Did you like LeBron when he played for crappier teams?
2. Lebron supports K and Duke
3. Lebron is a liberal douchebag (see: "Beto" hat)
If politics affects how you watch sports, then you're a lost cause.
4. "The King"
He didn't name himself that.

I personally hated Barry Sanders (I'm a Cowboy/Emmitt Smith guy) and Jeter (Damn Yankee). I don't remember Bird being universally loved. Clemente died in a plane crash - so he gets sympathy love. I don't know **** about Pele/soccer and am too young to know how people felt about Dr. J and Mays during their prime.

Payton....... I can get on board with. Although, I'm 38 and was pretty young during his prime. I do know A LOT of people hated his Bears teams, though (mostly because of McMahon, I'm sure).

Sporstwise I go back and forth on LeBron. Liked him in Cleveland, disliked him in Miami, liked him in Cleveland again, and now root against him in LA. Had he gone to Charlotte or Boston I would have liked him.

From a family/community perspective I’m a big fan of his. Probably one of the better role models out there.

From a politics/social issues perspective, I think he’s a moron. But I can separate those from the first two.

I do not think you read the whole article or understood what Durant meant. it was not because they hated Lebron, It was because of the added pressure and attention of playing with him, and that you have to kind of play second fiddle because he is so great with the ball in his hands. But, continue on with all of the NBA hates Lebron James.
